Lynn Camp's David Mitchell

Featured Replies

Dave is first class and always has been, and I'll never say otherwise. So I'm not surprised by what he did even under tough circumstances.

On the other side of the coin, would it be too much to expect the boys (or even their producer) to talk to him or any other coach off the air for a couple minutes before he went on air, just to get some talking points or some idea of how the game went?

I echo the sentiments on Coach Mitchell...he is a credit to high school football. LC99, or any other LC alum, is there one major event that led to the LC/W'burg heated rivalry or just years of buildup? I am just curious. I know they have been in the same district for years.

Just 2 schools really close in size, same area, district, etc. and have played each other for decades. There have been some incidents between the 2 over the years, but mostly just buildup. It's just one of those pride games that neither wants to lose that leads to animosity.

One thing that Coach Mitchell has ALWAYS been known for is class. He expects it out of everyone that is involved in his program, from assistants, all the way to managers. He expects the best from his players.

I doubt that any coach has ever done more with less over the years than Dave Mitchell. When discussions about the great coaches in the mountains occur, I would say Dave's name doesnt always come up, but it certainly should. His teams are always prepared and play extremely hard. His players also love him which is another indicator of a great coach. Lynn Camp has been very fortunate to have had him for so many years.
