Whether you like it or not, everytime you storm field you're saying "we didn't deserve to win this game, but we did, yippee....storm the field". That is completely untrue. No one can put a label on a school and it's fans for why they stormed the field. Kentucky football has been TERRIBLE before these past two years. They had a GREAT season last year in Kentucky terms and are having an even better season this year. However, Kentucky football fans are NOT used to beating the Louisville's, Georgia's and LSU's especially. All three were big wins and deserved rushing the field. We hadn't beaten Louisville in a few years and hadn't beaten a top ranked team in what...50 years? Are you telling me that's not worth rushing the field? It's for FUN! The fans were/are excited and wanted to rush the field and have FUN! Have you been on the field? I was on the field vs Georgia and Louisville and you will NOT be able to convince me the players didn't love every second of it. I saw many of them on the field loving the celebration...

October 21, 200718 yr Author I'm sorry but if you beat the #1 team on your home field, you storm the field. Georgia, probably not. But #1 LSU, biggest win in my lifetime, you storm. Of the 'big' wins in recent years, this is probably the only one worthy of storming, however, it's become so commonplace at Commonwealth now that I'm shocked we didn't storm field after the Kent State and Florida Atlantic games.

Becoming good didn't happen overnight. When you are terrible for so long and you finally beat a good team, some people get excited. There's nothing in the rule book that says a decent/good team can't rush the field after beating a team that they haven't beaten in years.

Well lets just take it one step at a time. It's good year for the cats, hopefully they cap it off with a bowl win. But how recruiting goes and how they do next year... a different story. They are a team that is building...hopefully. I was on the field, with my 12 and 14 year old kids after the UGA nad LSU wins.... the players were thrilled that the fans were on the field. In fact, if you watched CBS today, they interviewed #13 Johnson, he said he just wished the fans would charge the field during the 3rd overtime last week... that way he knew the win was real and they won the game. Charging the field for MSU.... I don't think so.

Doesn't surprise me...and the message you'll send the entire Vol Nation is "Tennessee you're better than us, but we happened to beat you and this monumental upset has resulted in our desire to storm field - don't pay any attention to the fact that we've been ranked as high as #7 - after all, you're Tennessee and we're little ole Kentucky and we'll never do this again so we better storm the field and lead a convoy of horn-honkin' Cat fans over the Jellico mountain into Knoxville". Geesh... By the time we play Tennessee we could still be in the hunt for the SEC East crown and a top bowl...but, heck, storm the field as if we're inferior to everybody else. For cryin' out loud...beat an average Alabama team a few years back...storm the field - beat a Georgia team that lost to Vanderbilt last year...storm the field - beat what is now an average Louisville team this year...storm the field - beat LSU...storm the field. (even if it has been a while ) UK (football) fans have not experienced many of the exciting game winning results that they have had in the past two years. It has been 40 to 50 years ago, so many do not know what is like nor have they been there before. In fact most of them where not even on this planet (born) at the time such significant victories were previously accomplished. So, since many of the fans have not been there before nor seen it before, I find it hard for them to act like they've been there before. Next time your team wins... "stick a needle in your eye".
