Kind of off track but what is KY law if a gay couple is married in another state and move here?

 

My initial reaction says that they would have to recognize them under the Full Faith and Credit Clause, but this has been an odd issue and I don't believe Kentucky recognizes gay marriage/civil unions.

It'll take the Supreme Court to resolve the issue between State Constitution/Laws, and the National Supremacy/Full Faith and Credit Clause of the US Constitution, to see which is valid. Depending upon who is on the High Court, when and if a case like this is taken might give us an answer.

This is the exact reason why some people support a constitutional ammendment defining marriage. They want to take the decision out of the hands of the Supreme Court because they don't trust the court to make the "right" decision".

I find it interesting the Fletcher camp has let this dog go. Interesting to is the comments within the Republican rank and file that finds this stunt to be a joke and waste. That means there is hope for the Republican party. My take on it is with all the matters that need to be addressed, we had a sitting incumbent with his inner circle actually spending time on this. It means they are really stupid, desperate or arrogant. I suspect it is all in equal parts.

Good News is on Tuesday Nov. 6th Burt and Ernie will be moving out of Frankfort.

I dare say Fletcher has made it so we wont see another Republican Governor for quite some time.
