October 10, 200718 yr No Carson on this list is a crime. Is this for the best college players? Because what I've seen so far is a list of "who's who" in the NFL. CP is a very good NFL QB. But he was a very average college QB for most of his career (much in the same manner that USC was very average as a team). Polomalu was the same way at USC. IMO, based solely on their college performances, my top 5 are: 1. Vick (how quick we forget........single handedly brought VT to prominence) 2. Young (Rose Bowl, need I say more?) 3. Tomlinson (Did more with less than anyone on this list) 4. Bush (Everytime he touched the ball you thought it might go for 6) 5. Julius Peppers (most dominant college defensive player of this decade)

That's probably why they lost to Stanford Because the defense lost some key players from the previous season and it was far better in the 2004 season. 2004 - The Trojan defense allowed 13 ppg...held the opponent to 10 points or less 6 times...allowed 20+ points 3 times with the highest points allowed being 28 2005 - The Trojan defense allowed 22.6 ppg...held one opponent to 10 points which was it's lowest of the season...allowed 20+ seven times....allowed 30+ three times and 40+ twice... Gee...why would I thik the '04 squad was better?
