I believe alot of people are talking JC down instead of talking Woodford Co. up. JC is not a bad team, Woodford is a good team. JC was somewhat banged up from the game the week before with Wheelersburg, OH and the fact that Grim was banged up as badly as he was contributed to the spread.

Woodford is a tough team that presents alot of problems with its spread offense and the overall team speed.

Thanks, but one thing you must understand is that most fans, know rules from college and NFL. Those rules differ on Friday night. I cannot tell you how many times I have been cursed because I flag pass int when the ball is well over the receivers' head or when we flag qb for grounding when he is outside the pocket, wrong level..... These are the bad calls that most folks mention.

 

Understand, officiating is all about philosophy and understanding the game while using judgement to make the RIGHT call.

Somerset football I'm going to agree with you on this. When a good team from 1 region travels to play a good team in another region the officiating has always been lopsided in my 19 years of watching high school football. It seems that officials let thier regional pride get in the way. IMO. It however is not just an EKY thing. When does a team go into NKY and beat a good team? Or WKY or LOU.

 

I don't see this, not in my games or with the crew that I call with. We work some big games during reg and in post season, I just don't see it. I would like to see officials to be put into four regions and work that entire region. That means if I live in the 13th, I could possibly work in the 15th on some games.... I would really like to see this happen and I hear it maybe happening as soon as next year.

 

I couldn't agree with you more regarding your comment about officiating, "philosophy and understanding the game while using judgement to make the RIGHT call." IMO, that is what separates the good from the bad and the ugly in officiating. I see this when we have played in state championships. Teams run into crews that have a totally different interpretation of philosophy and using the right judgement when to apply said rules in games. It's confusing to all teams and it reflect poorly on the officiating crews as most fans do not understand the complexity of many football rules.
