October 5, 200719 yr It is still in heavy consideration. Of course, we would have a lot more money if they RETURNED more of our own to us also. Therein lies the rub. Feel the same way about social security, federal taxes and general state/sales taxes and county taxes.
October 5, 200719 yr Then why does it still occur? Let's face it, SEEK in it's current form is simply a welfare program and needs to be fixed. What are the states that are having success with education? Are there any? If so, how do they do things? Not going to spend the time on charts and graphs but the following is a very true statement... the states that are considered successful educational systems have an expenditure of about 2 to 1 or better over Kentucky. These particular states also have extensive early childhood programs that are funded and supported quite well. Their college entry costs are reasonable vs. Kentucky and the support systems in the school - guidance, applications, results focused is significantly better than Kentucky. All of which costs more than what we already think is too much.
