September 16, 200719 yr Hats off to the CATS on the Ohio side! How was the crowd today? Biggest crowd at Miami since 03 when Big Ben and company took on Marshall in one of the early tests covering Thursday games on ESPN. UC has outscored opponents 140-16 in 3 games. Marshall and @San Diego St before a trip to Rutgers to open BEast play...
September 16, 200719 yr Going back over things from the day here is my favorite quote... "Our kids came in and were really focused. They weren't too emotional. We talked about all week the separation of being enthusiastic and not playing emotional. We've got too many rivalry games on our schedule to be emotional. We have to play at a consistent level. It's important when we come out and play like this, that we're business-like in everything we do. That was the tone all week, and our kids went out and executed in a business-like performance."
September 16, 200719 yr He doesn't want to dump Miami. He just doesn't want to play the series as a home and home... Maybe this game will make him realize his team should no matter what the venue. I respect MU but if UC wants to be elite they should be the favorite no matter what the venue.
September 16, 200719 yr Maybe this game will make him realize his team should no matter what the venue. I respect MU but if UC wants to be elite they should be the favorite no matter what the venue. Here is the bottom line. As the deal stands UC gets all the money from the Nippert game and Miami gets the same deal every other year. It's simply not a BCS team deal, rivalry be darned. He's either going to be Petrino or Beamer in his stay at UC...
September 16, 200719 yr Something I've been thinking about the past couple days....Who's the better, bigger suprise this season. UK or UC?
September 16, 200719 yr Something I've been thinking about the past couple days....Who's the better, bigger suprise this season. UK or UC? UK has to get the nod with the win tonight. After spending every second of all 3 UC games on the sideline I can say one thing. I wouldn't want to have to figure out how to move the ball against them...
September 16, 200719 yr Is there a chance that we see UK, UC, and UL all ranked at the same time this week?
September 16, 200719 yr Is there a chance that we see UK, UC, and UL all ranked at the same time this week? I think there is a very good chance of seeing that.
September 16, 200718 yr I think there is a very good chance of seeing that. I wonder when the last time if ever has that happened...
September 16, 200718 yr Is there a chance that we see UK, UC, and UL all ranked at the same time this week? I can't see UC above 28 in either poll. UK and UL will be there this week IMO. I keep saying it, and I hope I continue to be wrong. Even with an unreal penalty difference in favor of Miami, UC still had a ton of 50/50 plays bounce their way. Last week it was a twisting UC punt resulting in a muffed catch recovered at the 2 by a 3rd team all American and a blocked OSU punt off the back of a helmet. This week it started with a Miami O Lineman slipping on the first snap leading to a Cats TD and things kept rolling from there. 140-16 after 3 games is pretty impressive though...
September 16, 200718 yr Sooner or later, everybody is going to realize these guys are for real. Their defense doesn't get nearly the credit they deserve. Anyway, I'll leave you with these, which after watching them in person, I don't think are out of the realm of possibillity... UC, Best team in Ohio? UC, 2nd best in the Big East?
