Danville 13 GRC 12

Featured Replies

If not for the clock not running until the ball was snapped as Danville drove down the field at the end of the second half it should have been GRC 12 Danville 06. Happened the entire drive and the Admirals scored with 6 seconds left on the clock. Frustrating evening to say the least! Cards gave the game away by not capitalizing on some obvious situations inside the ten yard line. Fourth and goal with inches to go, you have been running the ball all night effectively and you PASS what the heck is that. Good team in Danville. Well coached and the team obviously taught class and how to play like young men. Cards better find some miracles soon or 0 -10 will be a legacy for some seniors who deserve much better.

They should have kept the ball on the ground, but since there was a pass that was thrown it shouldn't have been in the dirt. Reciever never had a chance to catch it.

Just got in from the game. Congrats to the Ads for their come-from -behind win. Everyone there at the stadium was super friendly and very courteous.

I am not sure how to summarize the game for GRC. I think I am at a loss for words. I never would have believed that a team with this much talent would be 0-4.

#20 Jarran Thomas had a great game.

Glad you made it home safe.:thumb:

Wow, this one must have been a great game!

Well, because I didn't notice the clock malfunction that you mentioned and also the Admirals scored with about 3:00 minutes remaining in the game. GRC received the ball and had over 2 1/2 minutes to score. For whatever reason, they ran the ball (even though they had 0 timeouts) and time ran out on them.

Everyone was screaming about the clock not starting at the end of the 2nd qtr, but I didn't catch what the problem was. Was the clock operator not starting the clock at the whistle?

Thanks Goldie! Long quite ride back to Winchester...........:

I'll have to admit, I totally missed all of this. I didn't notice any mistakes with the clock.

your talking fourth quarter and the time I am referring to is the end of the first half when the Admirals scored the first time. The clock did not start on the referees whistle but on the snap causing extra few seconds as time was running out in the second half. No accusation just a small glitch in a well officiated game against a very sportsman like team. Saw Danville players helping up GRC players several times and was impressed with their obvious discipline which speaks well of the coaches. Class act all the way.

I'm at a loss for words right now... I just don't see how this team keeps losing... They could very well be 4-0. That 4th and less than 1 on the goal line in the first half was BIG. They ran multiple Qb sneaks up the middle on short plays all game(and very effectively at that), why change there?? And can ANYBODY give me a reasonable explanation for the playcalling the last 2 minutes of the game?? I mean it was working there until it got under a minute, yet we kept just handing it off and letting the clock tick. I understand we were driving down the field and yes it was working but why would you hand the ball off with 6 seconds to go in the game 30 yds out? I just dont get it... Hats off to the GRC players, they gave it their all and showed that they are still giving it their best! Congrats to Danville for making the plays to pull out a win. Schedule gets even tougher here on out.....

I usually catch that stuff, but I missed the clock issues. I was talking about the 4th, sorry for the confusion.

That was perhaps the worst clock management at the end of the game that I've ever seen!

No the last few plays the clock would start as the ball was snapped. The head official seemed to notice but took no action.

Very well put isthatallyougot. Danville was a class-act all the way around. Great sportmen. Great Coaches to instill that character in those young men.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Brother that ain't the half of it. Been that way for some time now. Play calling and ball control haven't been seen at GRC for several years. We had Tates Creek down a touchdown last week with three minutes left and couldn't run the clock out! The really sad part is this class of seniors is probably the most talented in several years! Something has got to give.

I sat there in shock as they called a running play with 10-15 seconds remaining and then the clock just ran out... I was thinking "wow, what was that?"

GRC, successfully moved the ball well over all, and the enthusiasm was there , its just one of those games were you need to convert and hold on for a sure win because it was there for the taking.
