No, you would lose... Bad. In case you didn't know cross town matchups you can throw everything out its going to be a barn burner. But think what you want.

Might I add Southwestern developed no D-1 players that I know of last season.

Your correct they didn't. So Somerset should have walked all over us wee little warriors.

Wow, its sad to know that a grown man bashes middle school kids confidence. Theres no need to drag in young players learning the game like that Joe.

I think I was only responding to the fact that Somerst only has had success due to their district and anyone that knows football should know that that isn't the case. We played Sw to a standstill last year and since the only games I've seen between the two teams this year is a pair of middle school games that's all I haveto go on. Somerset won 42-0 in the 7th grade game and 22-16 over a highly touted and to that point unbeaten 8th grade team--I think we'll be all right. As for the bashing part I don't feel too sorry for the 8th grade team since I fielded 7 phone calls after 10pm telling my son how bad we were going to lose the game. ............However, I can assure you that there were NO return calls when we won........What about the middle school kids bashing my kids confidence? I guess he doesn't matter because he wears purple and gold. That's okay--he did his talking on the field.

Well congrats to your son and their victory, however to respond on your question to how many districts SW has won earlier, I believe they are now at 5 in their now 14 years of existence. Thats a 36% win percentage which isn't bad.

You can't have it both ways. Does SW have this incredible tradition or are they the underdogs? Either way we both know that they hold the state record for losing as a higher seeded team in the first round of the playoffs. I challenge you to dispute that fact.

Dale Anderson has done a teriffic job building that program, but kind of like Marty Schottenheimer (sp?) they seem to loose to lesser teams in the playoffs. I think that was the point Joe was making. With the talent produced down there I would have thought they would have won a regional title by now. Good luck Warriors, except when you play my Jumpers.

Actually it is 4 in in 14 years--either way that is all that they have won. However they do lead the state in most first round losses as a higher seeded team in the state playoffs. Thanks for the congrats, I thought I was out of line over being happy about it. I know that no one from SW would try to give us a hard time about the game or anything. My son said NOTHING at the Correll Bowl when he had to listen to the Southern players talking smack about the upcoming game. Of course all he did was smile when they shook hands and the Southern players chose to address all of out players with "loser" instead of good game. That doesn't matter though both teams know who won--my son even led a prayer for them after.

Wrong thread! But since you stuck your noses in a District 7 class A thread involving neither of your teams, I will pontificate. Gym, your comments are just like I remember from last year, at least you are consistant. How dare you come on this thread and start crowing! Your comments are disgraceful and show lack of class. I don't know your age, but I'll guess 14. When you grow up, you will learn there is more to football than winning at all costs. I'll restrict my comments because I have friends on here from your town, and I don't want to get kicked off the forum. You don't do Somerset High School any justice.

Well your son sounds like one good kid Joe, sounds like you did a terrific job raising him. However could we at least talk about some high school play here instead of players who have not even reached the JV or Frosh. level?

I agree 100%.

You are right Dragonpappy, and I apologize. There are many folks I know from the SHS area and are great people and you know there has to be one. but again I am sorry for participating in his thread jacking.

PAPPY, I wasn't trying to threadjack. I was really just trying to say that I thought that the Dragons would be the class of the district this year. And since obviously they aren't maybe this is in fact the worst district in the state. Which district would you pick if it isn't in fact this one? Give me an answer there, I'm really curious--I thought it would be better this year. As for football I played for a couple of state-semifinalists and a 13 win team so I think I know what it is all about. I wan't trying to slam Harlan but evidently they aren't anywhere near the team they were last year--sorry if the truth hurts.

No worries SW. Thanks
