Do you think these two will get a rematch in the playoffs? I hope so.

They get enough of that from their coaches. At home we have to try to encourage them and be positive after a game like tonight? A difficult task.

You obviously weren't around that huddle tonite after the game. Because I saw and heard a couple kids that spoke out like they were ready to start practicing tonite for next weeks game v.s Pulaski...to add too that, I can promise you that those couple or so spoke up in a positive attitude that most were hopefully thinking.

It depends on if they have to play through SW before I agree on a rematch lol.

I sure hope its not played at Mercer if it happens.

I know nothing about your situation but even if you feel that way, you are wrong for saying it, IMHO.

Please don't say negative things to your student-athlete about his coaches or teammates, that is only to cause problems for him.

I sincerely hope this works out for you.

Being positive after each game has become more and more difficult, words of encouragment and anything positive about the night are the words my son hears. And Mr. Network sir, I mean no disrespect in saying, not only have I earned a right to "complain" which I really meant "to be heard" but my son has earned it too and is owed an explaination. I do not encourage my son to give up on anything and he has tremendous respect for those Coaches who have earned it.

I do, I really do. It seems like it's going to be a very tough, competitive district, though. So both teams will have to take care of business the rest of the way for that to happen, and here is thinking that both, especially the red and blue team from Harrodsburg, will do just that. You have to take one at a time, though. Know what I mean?! What am I saying asking you that...I know, you know what I mean.:thumb:

You don't have to disrespect a very respected member just to get whatever point you are trying to make across, this is not the place for it I don't believe. Maybe you should take it up with your administration.

I'm thinking the rest of these district games, every match up, will be some great ones!

I really hope so. It's nice to win big, but I would rather watch a close game and may the best team win.

I see this as a black-n-blue district this year. I think we should all bone up on the tie-breaker rules because I think we will have teams beating each other without a dominate team beating everybody.

Yeah I have no idea what those rules are. Every team in this district leaves it all out on the field. One of the toughest districts in the state IMO.

After playing football from the 4th to 12th grades and then broadcasting games and watching as a fan, I am now three years into being a high school football parent. It is the hardest role I have had related to football. Watching your own child go through ups and downs or thinking that he is getting the short end of the stick can be very difficult.

Maybe I am reading too much into your post but the best thing you can do is let your son sort it out with his coaches. If he isn't getting the playing time or enough carries or enough balls thrown his way...whatever it is....it will not be resolved by your complaints or by you being heard by anyone, including his coaches. He will have to resolve it. By himself. Without your interference. Period.

Your intervention will only cast him in a worse light.

I know it is tough and I can tell by the way you are expressing yourself here that you are hurting because your child is hurting.

Good luck. I mean it.

It's rude and ungrateful to point fingers, talking negative, complain, etc. to a bunch of kids and a coaching staff that has worked their tails off over the past two years, going 17-1, winning a state championship, helping bring a community that has been split since it's existence, etc. .....the world didn't end tonite. Like Network said, Mercer lost a very hard fought ballgame tonite, and on the flip side, Mercer will also win.

Kids and coaching staff and you forgot PARENTS who have worked their tails off over the past 2 years and we parents get nothing but griping and complaining from other parents ad the community. Mercer lost and the world didn't end, but it rattled a few chains! And according to many, the community is still split ( a fairly recent article that referred to it as a festering sore, and the other reference of a wart.) Win or lose I will always support my child:thumb: But if you prefer, I will just stay at home.

If by "toughest" you mean competitive, then I am with you. I am not sure how this district will do in the Region but they are going to compete with each other.

Right now, it seems like Pulaski is still an unknown force. How good are they?

I think Lincoln, Mercer, PC and PSW are the four playoff teams. I just don't know the order.

PC seems to be for real. The offense no doubt is for real but the D has gave up alot of points in their 2 games. So only time will tell. They are not going to be a easy W this year that is for sure.
