This game has the making of a great football game, both teams have great players coming back this year, I would had to go with Fern Creek cause of their speed but this game is down in Death Valley and most people can tell you the field is always wet, so it going to be Meade Co 28-24, look for both of these teams to go far this year with some upsets

Read the "Everything a Rookie" thread and it will answer, any questions.

Fern Creek had an impressive freshman QB last year. I think his name is Hynes. He showed great poise and toughness against Trinity in last year's game. I'm thinking he might possibly be a very good player in the not too distant future. Meade had better be prepared for an aerial assault.

I think the Green Wave could have a very solid year. What they lack for in speed and talent, they more than make up for with good form tackling and blocking. I think they will win their home opener.

hmmmmmmmmm I seem to recall last year everyone predicting Meade Co. would win BIG! and what happened? They went home with a loss, to a team that had a freshman in his first ever start at QB.

I hope they make sure they get the field NICE AND SOGGY to slow FC down otherwise it could be very bad for the GreenWave, the deep ball isn't going to be an option. FC is fast fast fast and has some leapers, athleticism is rampant top to bottom. They are far better coached and running a far better system this season than last. Talent wise they had a couple key kids they lost since last year, Lawton, Johnson, Britt but they have been replaced with speed, athleticism and BETTER fundamental players and they won't be plagued by the penalties they were last year, its a far more disciplined team.

Higgins is one of the smarter coaches around, he hasn't showed his hand yet. I sit at these scrimmages and think "why aren't they doing what they do at practice".....Meade county will likely have a size and strength advantage but speed can run around size, Meade County will likely have a MORE experienced team on the field but I have to give the better coaching mind to Higgins. It will be an interesting game I think a close game it could go either way and I would be surprised if more than a TD seperated their scores.

Agree about Hynes against Trinity last year, the thing that impressed me was his nerve, I mean the kid never flinched even after he got blasted a couple times he stood in there and threw, he had to have 40+ attempts in that game. That is a WHOLE Lot of passes to get off, especially against Trinity.

I'm curious to see how this one plays out. I'll take Meade by 10.

I would feel a little better about out and out predicting a Fern Creek win if it weren't so darn hot. How zapped are those kids going to be after a 90 minute bus ride on a bus that will be over 100 degrees inside?

That is very true.
