Seems like most everyone has become disenchanted with the two major political parties. If you could form your own political party, what would it be called? Summarize your party platform and/or give the major ideas/beliefs that you would have your party stand for. Who would be your the chairman of your new party? Who would you like to see your party nominate for President? Break away from the Democrat/Republican same ole, same ole and let's here about your new, ideal political party.

I would form the "Horizon Party." My candidate would be Nolan Archibald, CEO of the Black & Decker Corp. The focus of the party would be on re-structuring our place in the world market. First priority would be abolishing all federal entitlements for educational programs, and replacement with tax investiture credits for states and municipalities restructuring to a track program that identified non-college bound students by the 6th grade for training in skilled labor. Second priority would be federal investment in fuel-cell technologies and investiture in private companies acquiring land for the sole purpose of ecological preservation. Third priority would be abolition of all federal social entitlement programs, including social security.

Instead of doing away with all of it, I would keep the program for disabled people, what is it called? SSI? Yeah, I would find a way to keep SSI around because of the crippled, blind, and mentally retarded people but I would take away the handouts for people that are fat, or they are Kleptos or under the age of 18 that have ADHD? If they are under 18, what would they need the money for?

The members of the horizon party. What will be your definition of disabled ? What would you propose instead of Social Security . Euthanize everyone who is disabled or when they reach the age of 62 ?

I'm going to call my party the Reformed Republicans. It will be modeled after the existing Republican Party with mostly the same ideals and principles. The exception will be that candidates will be free (actually encouraged) to choose paths that don't strictly adhere to the platform provided they make their intentions known during the primary campaign. In other words, fresh ideas added to the mix.

 

Also, it will have to be popular enough to garner it's own primarial election. No independent, vote for a candidate that someone else chose stuff.

Actually, the educational premise is the ultimate in free market capitalism. Remember, the Horizon Party isn't telling the underachieving 6th grader that he can't go to college or continue on a college track. All the Horizon Party is doing is removing federal support for schools. Schools need to pay for themselves and local economies of scale need to plan for themselves. The testing will be done by the schools themselves. Its their local economy that depends upon their good testing.

Somehow, the aged in this country managed to stay alive and do for themselves BEFORE we had social security, I'm sure we can get to that place again . . .

Because most of the social programs that you propose remind me of the Nazi Party and my fathers generation did not spend almost 5 years of their lives eradicating this evil to see it come back in the 21st century .
