Ryan Fucci from Tates Creek is a star in the making and will be a player to look ou for in the Class of 2011!

Travis Montgomery (6'1 guard/forward from Boone) is one of the top incoming freshman in the 9th region. He had a great showing at the middle school state tournament at the KBA in Lexington scoring 27 points against a very talented Russell County team. He has a great outside shot, but is also a slasher/scorer in the paint. He is a very versatile player - he can score, defend, rebound, and handle the ball. His basketball IQ and work ethic is very high and he will contribute a lot to the Boone team the next four years. He definately is a player to watch in the class of 2011!

I think he is a good player, but I don't believe he'll contribute at the varsity level this year. Boone is too loaded in the sophomore class.

Agreed...Montgomery is a nice player in a bad situation. Popp, Gabbard and Flannery are all very, very good in the class ahead of him.

 

Montgomery should probably be considered top 10 frosh in Northern Kentucky but overall the class of 2011 in N Ky is just not very strong.

Ryan was mentioned in the post above by Fastbreak already. No doubt Ryan is a special player. He has good genes too...his dad was a former Mr Basketball in KY and played D1 baseball at Auburn University. Ryan's little brother Jordan, is gonna follow his brother and dad's footsteps too. Several of the players on the Fastbreak list have played together on AAU teams or have been around each other since the 3rd grade while participating at various tournaments. I hope to get to see all of them one day at RUPP competing for a state championship.

This past AAU season, Robbie Stenzel, Tony Kimbro Jr., and Treg Setty all played for the Louisville Derek Smith AAU team ,14 and under, winning the Ky State AAU Tournament. They played in Orlando and finished in the upper 70 %tile of 160 of the best teams across the nation. There was a lot of good talent there with some 6-6 and some 6-7 boys. The three boys mentioned above looked as good as any but the team was lacking in size. I'm sure there a lot of good freshmen ball players in the state that don't even play AAU ball and I saw a good boys on other teams in Ky on other AAU teams.
