Guest Bluto Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 42 Frankfort 14 LCA The varsity played 3 quarters. LCA's offense was sporadic, and the defense had major difficulties. The BIG factor was Frankfort's star QB/WR, E.J. Fields. That kid is awesome!! I do not envy Frankfort's opponents this year. Fields is a state champion in the 400 meters, so he's got speed. He also has great moves as well as situational awareness. And on top of that, he took some tremendous shots, but kept on coming. My guess is that LCA faced as talented a player as they will see all year. And it was good to receive those lessons in a pre-season scrimmage. For LCA, Dominique Hayden lived up to his press. He is similar to a Walter Payton or Jerome Bettis. Hayden broke a ton of tackles. That's it for now.
CoachBuckett Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 FHS struggled 1st half to many missed asignments on offense. Part of that is due to injury of the #1 tailback. EJ played well at the WR. He caught about a 80 TD. Keri Metcalf looked good at QB for FHS. FHS defense tackling look poor. To many one armed tackles. LCA class team. They have a ton of of young talent. Impressed with all of the QB's. The rb is a load. Good luck to LCA this season.
TheLegends64 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 If Frankfort didn't have there #1 tailback.........they have to be considered one of the favorites to make it to L-Ville. They are very athletic.

I know that Frankfort will be a factor in class A this seson and I also think that LCA wil be as well. Paul Rains is one of the best football coaches not only in class A but statewide imo. I feel sure that he will get things worked out with the Eagles.

My impression was that by getting the ball to him outside, he was able to utilize his broken-field running skills more effectively. Fields became more effective as the game went on. As LCA's players became fatigued (compared to EJ) he was able to outpace them even more.

I thought they were just tryin it out but he turn out friday night...:ylsuper: Frankfort had poor tackling first half... they seem to pick it up in the second... Side note frankfort has to show some emotion...
