Boone County/Lafayette Scrimmage

I am absolutely positive that you are correct. :thumb:

Spot on. Jimmy and I both graduated in 76. Played together in the East West All Star game. Nice guy. I see him around a fair amount these days. He's doing well. He may have put on a pound or two since his playing days, but haven't we all?:thumb:

I saw his son play last year, and you could tell he got some of his Dad's talent.

As for Boone's offense (and I apologize if this has already been addressed), but is it the same run oriented offense as in the past, or did they air it out a lot more?

I've posted this before and I'll post it again. IF Boone doesn't take advantage of the fine qb they have this year, the head coach and/or o-coordinator should be re-evaluated.

Boone's first game is not until Saturday, Aug. 25. So, Farris will have 2 weeks of practice before Boone's first game. He has also attended a couple of conditioning practices in July. So, I think he will have enough practices that there will be no question about the first game. Not sure how scrimmages are counted. Is a scrimmage considered a practice or game?

He should be alright then. The 2 practices in July mean absolutely nothing. The 10 days must be w/in 3 weeks of the first game. By rule, he would practice this week w/out pads (5 days to get acclimated to the heat) then next week full pads (5 days) and be OK to play on Sat. At least that is how I read the rule.

Now, if this happens I would be very surprised. I would be willing to bet young Mr Farris will be wearing some kind of equipment come today.

They do air it out more than they used to for sure, but they are predominantly a run oriented team. I would guess 60-40 to 70-30 depending on the series.
