2007/2008 Greenup Co

First you have to have speed and ball handling. I've watch the feeder system for GCHS the last four or five years. We do not have speed and ball handling. If Leach can get the feeder system in on ball handling early it may take off.

Thank you, point well taken.

I think it can only get better for Greenup I mean they were terribly out rebounded which is why they lost the game in the first place. Perry and Adkins both fouled out and did not play their best game. And with Craft coming in from football here soon it should help things out alot.

Greenup will NEVER be able to play the run and gun style of Coach Leach. The players are there this year like every year to play a strong half court game on both ends of the floor. No 16th region team has the athletes year end and year out to press for 32 min. Also the 16th is not a big AAU area so most kids are not playing year around which limits skill developement.

Slow it down on offense, play a little d, rebound and GC is more than likely the 63rd districts best team this year.

Greenup will still be the best team in the 63rd just off sure talent.

Now here is a guy that you want to be around, someone who says what they want. Two things make me question him, his name "Gatorlover" and he says they need to play a "little" D. What about a lot of "D?" Gator tell me why Greenup was only 17-10 last year.

Only 17-10?? With all the controversy that surrounded the GC program last year I think that was a great accomplishment for the kids and Coach Sutton. They should be praised and not questioned. Most kids would have packed it in and quit. Truthfully I think that was what the administration was wanting to happen.

Coach Sutton? Was he the coach last year? Nothing happened at Greenup that doesn't happen at many schools each year.

You have to be kidding me. How many other schools throw thier coach (hicks) and team under the bus three games into the season.

You got to be kidding! No school admin. is going to throw the kids under the bus. Is there a chance stuff happened that you are not aware of that caused the riff with the staff and coach?

Brother you need to get in touch with the political riff between bball and football at GC before you post a response on here. The kids at Greenup are and NEVER have been a priority. All the main political players at GC are old football hero's at GC. None were ever sucessfull in sports so they moved to administrative positions within the district including the Superintendents postion. GC needs a good cleansing!

Well I'm betting Greenup does better than expected this year. I hope all is well in your world.

I also hope that GC does well. From what Ive seen they have some fine young men wearing the green and gold. Congratulations to Coach Sammons and the football team for winning the District Championship. GO GC!

Also I have some thoughts IF a good number of boys just concentrate on basketball in the offseason it would help with Leach's system. I'm talking about playing traveling BB,camps and etc. Just like T Wolfenbarker elected to just go with basketball and it paid off for him.(Pikeville College) Maybe better if the events didn't take place at GCHS last year. Wolfenbaker in my mind would have been the GCHS QB if he wanted to his senior year. Not taking away from their QB from last year but Wolfie was very tough in football much like their current QB. Old saying practise makes perfect or atlease :pbetter.

Yes we do have fine young men and we are proud of of our Football team. Good luck to the Basketball team this year.:thumb:

Did anyone see the Greenup Co. Freshman team vs. Rose Hill's Freshman team? How did Greenup Co. do?
