Lost to the DC assault in the championship game of the adidas Super 64.

Congratulations boys and coaches on representing Kentucky basketball.

Of the 10 national tournaments they played in they won 4, were runners-up 4 times and third 1 time. That means in 8 of the 10 tournaments they played in, they played for the championship.

Pretty big accomplishment for a bunch of boys from Kentucky.

Congratulations, that is indeed an accomplishment

The Atlantic Celtics with mvp Chris Singleton (this is a kid Gillespie would love to get, and probally a future lotter pick) won the tournament as I expected.

Although the Houston Select team had them beat until the last 36 seconds of the game and got beat by missing a layupand some free throws. Houston Select was the team that ousted the DS 17u east team 82-75 .

DS East now goes on to Los Angeles with a big game Sunday against Team Texax with Willie Warren, a top 5 player in the country. Should be a big

College turnout at that game, look for a couple of the DS boys to "get on the map":thumb:

We sent a couple of our teams out to Vegas last year and didn't feel as if we got as much out of it as we did in Orlando.

All of these tourneys are great events and present a lot of exposure for the kids attending.

We will probably send some of our 16u teams on the Vegas and LA trips in the future, but will continue to send our 17u teams to Orlando. The Orlando trips have been a great success for our Ohio and Kentucky teams.

Budman, I don't want to be negative but if you want them seen by a lot of scouts why wouldn't you send them out west where all the top caliber teams are playing and most of the scouts are watching. AAU Nationals are good for when they are kids but when they are 15 and up they should go to Vegas and CA to play the best.

Your not being negative. I love to get feedback and thoughts from others.

Our kids have played in front of a ton of college coaches this week and will play in front of even more for the 17u National tourney this week. It is a decision that we have made as an orginization that we feel benefits our kids. Our scouting director has communicated with a lot of the coaches that have and will recruit our kids and Orlando seems to be the best situation for them.

I don't think that you can go wrong with any of these tourneys. I assume that it is different for each team and each orginization.

It is nice to see the state of Kentucky represented all over the country. I wish the best for all of these kids.

The Vegas tourneys are a huge draw for the college coaches. Great opportunity for the kids that are there.

I have yet to attend the tourney in Los Angles. Don't know much about the tourney. I am sure that it is a top notch tourney as well.

In the future we may do the Vegas tourney and then go to Orlando for the Nationals.

Shooter- Any word on Indy spiece heat 16U from Fort Wayne?

I went to Eddie Fords hoop fest in Louisville a couple of weeks ago and watched a friend of mine play.

A GREAT accomplishment for this super talented group of young men. They should be very proud of themselves. Maybe you all can come across another tournament to let the boys play one last time before school. :scared:

The NOrthern Kentucky Jazz are playing in the 17U Vegas Tournament. Kids on that roster include Corey Sorrell HC, Luke Mace-Dixie, Matt Roberts (Moeller), Drew Simons,Michael Eaton Highlands, Kendall=Dixie.Geisler NCC, Craddock- Lloyd, probably missing a few. I thnk they played in a Myrtle Beach tourney last weekend.

Barnes from SK and Adams from SC

Kentucky teams did well for them selves. They are going to be at school next week or so.

Does anyone know if this Clevenger kid is related to Steve Clevenger, UK 64-68 and Mr. Basketball in Indiana early 60's?

Ds 16's played a very tough DC ASSault who have picked up a couple of key players since Cincinnatti, and they have beat everyone up until tonight by 50+, DS went into game without Matt Clevenger who sprained an ankle earlier, that left Ethan Faulkner as the primary ball handler against a swarming DC ASsault team who has several high d-1 players. Ethan played a heckuva game and had 29 points, but it wasn't enough as the DS team lost 73-62, I look for DC Assault to win the tournament

From what I've seen, Ethan would be a great asset on any team.I wish him and the Elliott Co team the best this coming year.

The Elliott team should do well again this year and 4 of the starters played all summer and did well.
