Can someone explain to me how the goverment can legally let you kill an unborn child....But if you lost an unborn child in a car wreck it is murder?

Actually, I've asked similar questions myself. For example, if you murder a pregnant woman, you are likely to be charged with 2 counts of murder. However, if the woman had opted for an abortion before she was killed, the dead baby is still dead, but the murderer is down to just one count. Sorry for such a macabre example.

I agree that its an inconsistent stance. If abortion was legal through the first 3 months, then it shouldn't be possible to murder an unborn child in that time. Since abortion is now legal at any time before birth, there should be no such thing as fetal homicide. It should be relegated to a civil action under destruction/conversion of private property.

Don't be too impressed by the trimester approach. That concept was "created" by Justice Blackmun in his majority opinion in Roe v Wade. If you have ever read Roe v Wade, you know it is a poorly written and reasoned decision.

It is my understanding that in the state of Kentucky you can't be charged with murder of the fetus if you kill a pregnant woman. But I am not 100% positive on that. I do know that if a pregnant woman is smoking crack she can't be charged with any crime involving the fetus prior to birth.

Here is what always got me...............Some politicians can be anti-gun by saying they cause too many deaths but those same politicians can be for abortion ???? Abortion is nothing more than legalized murder. End of Story!! Guns kill people???

The argument that I find ironically funny is the Pro-Choice person who rails about kids not having healthcare. It's okay to kill them in the womb but how horrible are we as a country to not provide them healthcare for their earaches. Death in womb--acceptable. Earached--Unacceptable.

 

Be consistent.
