saint4
Without looking at their team's schedule and pitching rotation, could it be that Oswalt may be the only one that would be able to throw an inning or two? Probably. The others pitch games close to the AS game.
UKMustangFan
Probably. The others pitch games close to the AS game. Not all of them....Gorzelanny threw yesterday, so the game would fall on his scheduled start....Oswalt pitches Sunday....
SvFan4life
Hudson also pitched last night. Oswalt isn't as deserving imo as others but why argue it, it doesn't even matter.
stick1
I guess I look at it like Oswalt is solid and there could be an argument. If you go by numbers alone then he isn't the first choice but there are other factors. I understand the argument if you look at the numbers but I don't think they went and took some horrible player and stuck him in there. In the past there have been guys that didn't play half or played awful make the all star team on name alone. Things happen every year, it's no big shock IMO. bellalumni40
Wins and losses arent necessarily a telling stat. I'd need to see more stats to tell you who is more deserving.
mcpapa
If you told me I had a one game shot at $1 million dollars and could pick any of the pitchers above to start for my team then I'm taking Oswalt without batting an eye! Statistics don't always tell the whole story IMO. Especially if your team is playing against the Redlegs.
