July 2, 200719 yr uh... errr.. wow. Probably works better for UK honestly. I really didn't want Liggins, Clark, AND Warren. I'll take Clark if he still wants to come, but I trust BCG can fill the spot if he doesn't. Anyway, sounds sorta like Mayo syndrome. These possibly elite level players are dropping down a tier in their schools so they can be THE man, as opposed to being merely a starter on a higher level team.
July 2, 200719 yr Author Matt Jones is also confirming this as he talked to Clarke. Just got off the phone with Rotnei Clarke (who will be on the radio show tomorrow and who we will have a story about later tonight). He confirmed that Willie Warren has committed to Baylor. Unbelievable….. I asked if him if this ended the possibility of he and Willie playing together and he said, "yeah I guess it does. Now he wants me to go down there too, but thats not going to happen." So much for the package deal.
July 2, 200719 yr I felt like it was the right place that I can come in and become an impact player right away. I wouldn't have to worry about waiting. I mean, they are putting the ball in my hands from the get go and if I make a mistake it's going to be my fault My guy that talked to Willie quite a bit always expressed a slim concern about his desire to pick a school with immediate major minute clock. Nothing in his way at Baylor...
July 2, 200719 yr According to Maggard, Warren didn't talk to his mother, or any coaches before making the decision.....This could be far from definite.

July 2, 200719 yr Sounds like this isn't going to hold up. There is a family member pushing for Baylor. From some of Clarke's comments, he said he hung out with KC MIller and Willie, as in Willie Warren. Not positive that Warren was there. I think there were like 5 or 6 unofficial visitors at UK this weekend.
July 2, 200719 yr Guess that clears up the question about room for Miller....From everything I've read about WW, he always says whatever the people want to hear that he so happens to be talking to at the time..Sounds to me like he needs someone to take all the visits with him to keep him from committing on the spot every time...I wasnt aware he had already committed and withdrawn twice before..Guess he doesnt want to hurt anyones feelings or just likes the attention. Either way, very strange to hear all this..Wonder if he'll decide to not go to Oak Hill, too, since they'll have alot of other players to share the rock with too..
July 2, 200719 yr WOW... something we haven't seen in a decade.. actually having to turn down recruits or they back off because of depth and other talent.
July 2, 200719 yr WOW... something we haven't seen in a decade.. actually having to turn down recruits or they back off because of depth and other talent. UK in no way turned down Warren. Once again the verbal has been squashed by his mom, and as I have said for a long time, the kid LOVES to talk to the media. Every day presents a new headline story depending on who's asking the questions on this one...

"Rotnei told me he loved his visit to Kentucky...he wanted to commit then. I mean, I was in good with Kentucky but then I saw they got another commitment from a point guard." Are you talking about Liggins, I asked. "Well, Liggins, KC and GJ Vilarino...."

Based on that do you think UK should stop recruiting him now that the verbal is off???
