I would certainly think that two that should be on the team would be Scott Grizzle (Raceland) and Aaron Rowe (Greenup Co.). I am suprised that they were not included.

 

JMO, those two are a couple of very good ball players.

I am not sure how it is now.

 

Maybe someone more familiar with how it works now can post and confirm how the process works. I do know that in years past each coach submits the players names from his team that he feels should be included for consideration. How it gets voted on from there or if all names are taken from each coach I don't know.

I believe area coaches all submit their votes, they are tallied and the top vote getters are named all-area.

I don't know who voted, but I can't believe that Greenup was 63rd district champs, 16th region champs, and Semi-state 7 champs, and only got 2 players on the all area team. They won 29 games this year and I know of at least 2 more that was well qualified to be on that team. Greenup in my opinion should have at least had 3 on that team. All the boys on the area team are good players and well deserving , but when the team that excels like Greenup did this year, you would think they would have gotten more respect. Congrats to all the players on a great 2007 season.

I firmly do agree that everyone on the list deserved to be there and some others definetly deserved to be on there also, but I guess they have to draw a line of the amount of players on there, so someone is always gonna get left out. I think your comments on the Coaching Staffs could be somewhat close, but not quite as bad as you let on. Boyd has a good Staff and some does most schools around here. I have heard complaints from all sides on Boyd's Staff, but also heard praises, so it is a matter of opinion. Greg Logan definetly deserved the Coaches award, he did a great job at Greenup and so did the young men he had at Greenup.

 

I believe people out of the area do not give the 16th Region enough credit. All of the Coaching Staff's in the 16th Region is top notch and baseball is at a high level in this Region. I feel the same way with the Youth Traveling Teams in the 16th Region area..all are top notch.

I seriously doubt that happened, if so they need to rethink on their list.
