2007 All-Area Baseball Team

What about honorable mention. Any thoughts on that?

Same as being left off this list...Kinda like kissing your sister...:D

BTW, how does Brad Blanton make the KY All-Star team and cant even make the Daily Independent Team???

Hmmm, which one would you rather make??

First, I don't think anyone means to say that the boys on the list are not deserving. They all are but... after doing some research on this subject, there was no "tallying" to it. Looks like the ones submitted by the coaches were the ones put on the list. (Unless someone from the Ashland Daily chose from the list). So why not put three or four on the list like Boyd County did. They gave it a shot and look what happened. Why didn't the other coaches do the same? Just a thought.

That is not true at all. I know for a fact that Paintsville had 5 on their list. Each coach in the area votes for 18 players plus an MVP and coach of the year. Sure coaches may ask each other who is deserving off their team, but the votes of each area coach is tallied by the Daily Independent.

I also know for a fact that some of the area coaches did not vote. Maybe Paintsville did. Do you know for a fact that the other coaches voted. Wasn't this turned over to Boyd County because the sports editor went to Ironton?

All coaches had the chance to vote, some may not have. Actually Adam VanKirk of the daily independent took care of the all-area voting this year. He replaced Rick Greene as the sports editor. One reason Greenup Co. may have only got two and Boyd Co. got three is the fact that the deadline to vote was the first day of the regional baseball tourney.

Good Point...Most people probably did not know that.:thumb:
