Final!

Lewis started and went 5 for the Breds. After falling behind 2-0 Harrison tied it with single runs in the 4th and 5th innings. Lewis walked the lead-off hitter in the 6th and was replaced by Brandon Martin. Harrison scored again in the 6th off the Brossart reliever. Brossart got a lead-off walk and single to start the 7th, but Martin then retired the top 3 hitters for the win. Harrison County advances to the 10th Region Championship against the winner of Scott High and GRC. Harrison County is the 3 time defending champ.

Congrats to Harrison Co on the win. A young team, but with lots of talent that the 10th will see for the next few years. Also congrats to BB for a great season.

Both outstanding games tonight. GRC should be the favorite over Harrison, but you can never count out the Thorobreds.

According to the Harrison County radio play by play, Harrison made 2 errors.

Maybe the Brossart staff did know what they were doing by starting Uebel tonight. You can't question their decisions especially when they beat your squad and went undefeated in the District. Tough loss tonight but better than watching from the sidelines. Congrats to the Mustangs and Eagles on a great season and good luck to the Cards and Breds.

I would have made the same argument... The first baseman dropped the ball from his glove before he reached to grab it out of his glove. The ump said it was in the exchange but unless the 1B was flipping it up with his glove hand then it was a bad call. The Breds didn't score that inning but I am sure that it woke them up!

It was Brossart's second baseman, not the 1B. Once he caught the ball and had control with his foot on the bag, which he did, the batter was out. The batter then raised his elbow and knocked the ball loose. At that point it did not matter because he was already out. Coach Whitaker is one of the best and took advantage of the opportunity to fire up his squad. That's another reason why he is the legend he is.

Excuse me for ever questioning the wisdom of the Brossart coaching staff. It was the left fielders error that cost them the game not their pitching. Uebel did a good job tonight just got a little tired at the end and it sure wasn't the second pitchers fault that the ball went through the left fielders legs, that led to the winning run....Still a good season for the Stangs and for the Eagles of Scott. They represented the 37th District well.....Lets face it Sports3311, ours is a good rivalry and hopefully always will be. As far as I am concerned we both have good programs and will continue to in the future.

.....They work as hard as they can to be the best that they can and they always will....So as far as you saying stuff about Bishop Brossart losing in the semis, thats not right.

Man guys, lighten up. Both Wayne Heringer and Bob Rowe represent their programs with absolute class and dignity and you guys would all do well to emulate that behavior. The Camels and the Mustangs have outstanding programs with good athletes and good solid coaching and both will be contenders in a very difficult district even in their "down" years.

I agree with you Bulldog. Enough of this senseless bashing. Two years, four years, what has happened in the past has nothing to do with either programs future. Both will always be competitive and the district will always be one of the strongest in the 10th and represent itself well. Peace !! Its not exactly a world dilemma, if both or neither of the team ever make it again or win every year. It is after all only high school sports.
