Who are the strongest on your team?

Featured Replies

the way the kids squat is basicly parallel, i don't understand that you can't believe these numbers. kids are alot stronger these days that back in the day

I played at NewCath until '97. I graduated from college in '02. That's not back in the day. I am doubting how deep the kids were getting on their squats to get weight like that up. I'm not saying that they are not strong kids. I believe the benches. That much weight on squat would win power lifting competitions across the state.

I have been involved in lifting all my life and found that most people don't believe things that they themselves could not do. Or have not done. I believe the kids for the most part and hope they continue their success. My advice to the big man of 375, is to start jogging and get some of that weight off asap.

I've been lifting all my life as well. I played through college. I've seen strong guys. I'm just saying that that squatting that much weight, with proper form, is hard to buy. Bending your knees with 600 lbs on your shoulder as a 17-18 year old is impressive, getting down all the way to parallel...I'd have to see that happen.

Totally agree.

If you have seen this kid, then you would believe the squat. He's 6'0, 270. He is just one of those kids that has natural strength and then add it to working out hard for several months, someone can do it.

The bench numbers are true as well, it just comes from hard work and dedication since January.

It really doesnt matter if he does 615 or 415. It sounds like he has powerful legs and that is essential for a lineman. I expect those boys to open up some gaping holes for Kelly next season. Should be interesting to watch.

I have personally squatted 700, I weighed 285 at the time and was far from roided.
I don't about that.....Miles must not been lookin to close when you maxed that. ;)

Steven's older brother Kevin had a great career at NewCath. He's cousins with Eddie, who we all know about, and Brian who started for three seasons at Thomas Moore. He comes from strong stock. It's good to see him improving. I hope that he has a great season.

Rockcastle County has a freshman 15yrs old, he benched 285, squated 450, and power cleaned 275 pounds that is impresive as a freshman. This rockcastle freshman also only weighs 195. The upper classmen are monsters in the weight room.

who are the heavy lifters on your team?

for newcath, they have 3 lineman that can lift alot.

Eric Wedding- bench 325, sqaut 585, clean 255

Steve Eviston- bench 345, squat 615, clean 225

Jon Keiting- bench 365, squat 585, clean 255

These cleans are based on a rep of 4x's, not just once.

Man, I have been around several division 1 college programs and they had a few guys that did those squats and cleans like that. Those numbers are really impressive. What are you all feeding those cats....you need to bottle it up and sell it!

Now the truth comes out, I have found that projected maxes for clean are very inaccurate.

Miles was long going when I done that (thank the lord). Could have done 750 by his squat standards.
