What do the Lexington 6A schools need to do...

The weight room and on the field are related, but two totally different things. You, as a program, can lift all you want and run and run. The problem comes with coaches saying that the new players are too young to do this and that, but still start or play significant minutes. These same young kids are going to become primetime players, unless their are 11 new transfers to replace them. Then there's the stubborn coaching that says we've done this here and it worked, so it should work here and not really change a thing.

Now with Dunbar, Hensley has his first class of freshman juniors now. The senior class last year was, well we'll just say not all that good. It will be an interesting year over there. Looking forward to seeing progress from last year.

Do you think Dunbar's coaching staff is stubborn, is that what you mean? If so, in what way?

I was talking about the district as a whole.

Now, I recognize my "say-so" is little in this just being from a small little mountain school, but what about trying to play some smaller teams from down in this region. You've gotta look at what team struggles with, and choose to play teams that excel in that aspect of the game. Such as if your run-defense is struggling, definetly come down here, where it isn't a sin for a running back to carry the ball 40-60 times. However, I'm just Class "A", yal are to "finese" for me.

Learn to play defense.

There's no problem with the run here. Besides, we have Tates Creek and the backs there carry the ball 40-60 times a game and all week in practice, sometimes even in school, the school bus, while doing homework, and in the bed. :thumb:

I'll be sure to tell Jerrell Greene that since he benches 295 cleans 255 and squats 415 and he is only ending his sophmore school year that our work outs are not good enough for him.

They can be the strongest kids on the team and it doesn't mean a thing.

Trust me, in this case it does.

What happens when the kid is also one of the fastest and quickest players in the region? The kid you posted about is a stud.

You just love to make things up. I didn't post about any kid. I just wanted to say that strength was not the most important factor in being a good football player.

Your right. You didn't. It just came after Golfer's post about a specific kids and his weightlifting attributes. Sorry, how could I get so confused.

i think that u shouldnt blame your season on bad breakes (Dunbar). I think u all should focus more on how to win instead of having a player who benches 295 etc. Learn how to win and it all starts with the coaches knowing what to do in certain situations. Your alls weight room may be nice but it doesnt mean a thing if your players cant transfer that to the field. You dont lose 9 games on bad breakes you lose 9 games on bad coaches not puting your play makers in the right position to do what they do best and that is to make plays. You should stop focusing on indivivual players and glorifying them and start focusing on how to win games. This message is for The Golfer.

Well, if you know better than Dunbars staff I'm all ears. What did Dunbar do this year that was so poorly coached and would have helped the players to be in better situations?

If the coaching staff lost 9 games on bad coaching I would love to hear what the coaching staff did that was so awful?

The staff is good, but I think even the most die hearted Bulldog fans got tired of seeing Fullback trap 30 times a game. The Tates Creek game was lost on the sidelines though.

Since Jerrell is the tailback I'm a little confused on the fullback trap in the tates creek game especially since Dunbar was running stretch.

Why don't you come to Hensley's office and tell him that, or have you all ready been there?
