According to an article I read l in the sring of '06 we have 86 billion barrels of oil off our coasts and in Alaska. The problem is that the environmentalists do not want us to drill for fear of harming the environment. We have the technology to drill and not harm the environment. Will there be a spill here and there, yes, but they will be few and far between and we know how to clean them up. We have not destroyed the world to date and with new knowledge and awareness we can drill in these areas without fear of destroying the world.
