bluebird mom Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Another great game between Ryle and Highlands. Both teams held each other scoreless through 8 innings. Great pitching tonight from both pitchers. Allen for Highlands and Hatfield for Ryle. Allen went 8 1/3 giving up 6 hits and 1 run. Rawlings came in for the relief giving up 4 runs. Hatfield went the distance only giving up 2 singles, 1 to Allen and 1 to Muench. Sac fly by Campbell scored the winning run and Humphrey had a bases loaded 3B to score 3, 5th run scored on a stolen base (not sure of player's name). Not sure Ryle has been held scoreless in 8 innings this year. Great game, great players, great fans. Next up for Highlands is Cov Cath tomorrow at Highland Park.
HHSDawgs1424 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I still think Allen is one of the most underrated players in nky. Good win for the Raiders though.

It was a great game with both teams trading atom balls thru 8 innings. 0-0 sounds like a pitchers duel but great defense by both teams was the name of this game. The Raiders turned 4 double plays while the Birds played solid defense as well. One of those games you hated to see Allen loose, he is a class act and we look forward to playing summer ball with him. Hatty threw great and got the ground balls when he needed them. Nice piece of hitting by Hump with the bases jammed. Good luck to both teams in the post season.
cshs81 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I still think Allen is one of the most underrated players in nky. Good win for the Raiders though. The "committee" may have to get together and add Allen to "the race."

cshs81 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I think Hatfield got the win. Congrats to Mr. Hatfield. Fine pitcher.
stickymittsgirl Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 The "committee" may have to get together and add Allen to "the race." Any Player of the Year talk that does not contain Patrick Allen is a joke...
Diamond Dandy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Any Player of the Year talk that does not contain Patrick Allen is a joke... Didn't you hear...it's a 2 man race. And yes, your right.
cshs81 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Any Player of the Year talk that does not contain Patrick Allen is a joke... As I said, the committee is reviewing his credentials. Looks favorable for him to make it a 4-man race. He's the Curley of 2007 - pitching stats and batting stats.

Actually you declared it a two man race with 3 weeks with left in the season, pretty much indicating that all other contenders might as well hang up their spikes. Thank goodness the players are too busy to read your post.

We'll announce ours later as we like to be unbiased and take into account the entire season.
Diamond Dandy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 ...and by the way, you've already declared a winner. We'll announce ours later as we like to be unbiased and take into account the entire season. Nope, just delared the leaders and mentioned there was one week left. But that "un-biased" phrase, now that's some funny stuff, I don't care who ya are. Just in case you have trouble getting off your high horse Mr. Committee man, these kids don;t give a hoot about stats as long as they get the W. And that's something you and the good ole boys can't vote on.
STRIKE3 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I'm riding in on my horse and suggesting, this thread get back to the topic of the game, between Ryle and Highlands.
