May 21, 200719 yr AHHH, that means the GF has a 8-5 job. Yes and so do I. And I work very very close to this other person's residence. Dinner would be much harder to pull off but still could be done.
May 21, 200719 yr I have 100% faith that I would get away with it. I think every guy in the history of the world has thought that. lol If she doesn't trust you or isn't comfortable with you having women friends or having an occasional lunch with them, you and the significant other might need to have a long talk someday. Then again, you did say six years, something tells that discussion has already been attempted before.

She was mad but got over it. It wasn't just me and her though. My cousin is very good friends with her. It was her, my cousin, and this other girl that they hang out with.
May 21, 200719 yr I'm going to bed. HammerTime: In about a week, when you are sitting up, late at night, listening to incessant crying, buying flowers, expensive dinners and the like, thinking to yourself "Man, I really should not have done that, I knew I couldn't get away with it," remember this night, and the advice Habib gave you. Write it down, mail it to yourself, it never fails.
May 21, 200719 yr Tell her... Honesty is the foundation of my relationship and I wouldn't have it any other way... In fact, the only time we've broke up is because I was a little bit too honest and let some things go said that could've been left unsaid... Thankfully that's all in the past. But yeah, if she wouldn't want you to go it's best to know that and not have any guilt about it...
May 21, 200719 yr Well thats a good point BBF but she has a child and even if there was thats not something I am willing to deal with at this point. HMM, sounds like she might be looking for a father figure of sorts. For me, I would have to pass on the decision. You evidently have a good GF or you would not be with her for 6 years and if I was in your shoes it wouldn't be worth the risk of damaging that. On the other hand, you have been with her for 6 years and I'm assuming you are still not engaged so it seems you might wonder to yourself if she's the one. So going on a date with someone you previously had feelings for might be a deciding factor to keep her or not if that is the case. Just a thought, I might be and probably am completely wrong but its just an observation.

My reason for not telling her has nothing to do with the status of our relationship it is just simply to avoid a fight that is pointless. If I was to go to lunch with this girl it is strictly Platonic(SP). Even if I did tell her and went she would get over it and it would be fine if I don't tell her and go we don't have to fight about it and all is well. I don't think she is looking for a father figure. The dad is very much involved in the child's life.
May 21, 200719 yr Better yet, forget about this other girl... It's trouble... The more I think about it, the worse it is. Just run... Fast... Don't look back... Run.
May 21, 200719 yr Ok I will let you guys know when/if I plan on executing this plan. You need to call BA, Faceman, Murdock and Hannibal Smith. They can help you get a "plan" together.
