May 14, 200719 yr Just saw it on http://www.Bengals.com. Sam Adams is gone and the new guy is Kenderick Allen, he's 6'5'' & plays DT and this is his fourth team, but only played 2 games last year because of a foot injury. Cincinnati signed him for one year.
May 14, 200719 yr I would love to hear the explanation on this because I just don't get it.I'm assuming it's b/c he's younger, better, and will actually try. Just a hunch.

May 14, 200719 yr That's my guess and then I looked at a list of all the people they will bring in to begin with. The 6-5 Allen, joining his fourth team in five years, is an agile 330-pounder when healthy who is coming off a foot injury that limited him to two games last season in Green Bay. He becomes the second Lewis client in a week to come on board the defense for one year with both Allen and linebacker Ed Hartwell expected to report to the first voluntary practice on Tuesday. Allen is also the third defensive tackle to come into the fold in the past two weeks after they picked up Michael Myers from Denver in free agency and drafted Oregon’s Matt Toeaina in the sixth round. They join starters John Thornton and Sam Adams, and Domata Peko, the first tackle off the bench. Defensive ends Jonathan Fanene, Bryan Robinson and perhaps Frostee Rucker can also play inside on passing downs. I guess with all the signings they have done, they just didn't need Sam anymore.
May 14, 200719 yr Allen?? :lol:do you think Adams was good? He filled a huge hole, but I would say at this point in his career, yes Allen is defintiely better. Laugh all you want, it's true.
May 14, 200719 yr If nothing else he'll be able to play on consecutive downs. I like that we're signing these guys to 1 year deals too. Fill an immediate need and bridge the hole so we can get a DT & LB in next year's draft, or through FA.
May 14, 200719 yr Adams was brought in to stop the run and the only thing he stopped was the toilet at PBS!
May 14, 200719 yr do you think Adams was good? He filled a huge hole, but I would say at this point in his career, yes Allen is defintiely better. Laugh all you want, it's true. Well I guess a lot of teams are missing out (4 in 5 years). Seems to me they know something you don't. Adams didn't put up big numbers and he never has. I think he took a lot of pressure off other guys on the line and his presence will be missed.

Adams was lazy on and off the field and this move is far from needing explanation as you said.

May 14, 200719 yr Like I said guess a lot of NFL teams needs to consult you because they are missing out. What are you talking about?
May 14, 200719 yr With Tory James and Sam Adams gone, the Bengals have gotten rid of alot of dead weight (no pun intended).
May 14, 200719 yr What are you talking about? I don't see how you can possibly try and justifity saying Allen is better than Adams when he has been on 4 teams in 5 years. There is a reason he hasnt stayed anywhere to long. I know he was hurt last year but still. Will he be better maybe and I really hope so but I don't think you can say he is better than Sam right now.
