Don't hold me to the final score, it was relayed by cell phone from my mother who goes to the games to talk to her friends rather than watch the game.... I know Boyd got the win though.

This was a great game for 4 innings. Boyd led 1-0 after 4 with Boyd's lefty giving up 0 hits in his 4 innings of work.

 

Boyd had 1 run in with 2 outs and bases loaded in the 5th and on a 3-2 pitch with runners going on the pitch a misplayed ball in leftfield opened the flood gates. Boyd scored 4 times to take a 5-0 lead.

 

Lawrence has a rally killed in the bottom half of the inning when they had men on 2nd and 3rd with only 1 out. The #9 batter strikes out and with the lead off man up with 2 outs the runner on second gets picked off by a throw from the catcher.

 

LC puts brings in a new pitcher for the 6th. He seemed not to have much mound experience. He threw several wild pitches mixed in around many walks and a few chopped ground ball hits. Boyd scores 6 times to seal the mercy rule victory.

 

LC must have been saving arms at this point for what looks to be a tough double-header tomorrow.

 

Only seen LC a couple of times this year but have read a lot about them. They seemed to look very good against Perry County in the first game tonight banging out 15 hits and winning 11-1.

 

Boyd (first time I have seen them this year) looked very solid. Definitely a top 20 team.

Great job for Perkins tonight. In 2 appearances against LC this season, he has thrown 7 innings of hitless ball.

Does Boyd have some big games coming up soon ? They must if they took Perkins out while he had a no hitter going. 8 k's and no hits in 4 innings of work, thats a nice outing for Mr. Perkins.

Perkins said in the paper today that they were just getting work in and breaking up games to get ready for the postseason.

Great effort by Tyler. Very impressive outing for Boyd, as Lawrence has been playing very well as of late.

 

I think that Boyd will now make that great post season run like most of us thought they would. Congrats to all you guys.
