CovCath 12 Raceland 2

Featured Replies

Sophomore Isler was suppose to start this game, but with Ice pitching an inning against Boyd, Coach Krumps didn't want him pitching again. CovCath went with another Sophomore Sainola who pitched very, very well before giving the ball up to Pauley who closed out the game. Raceland had I think something like eight errors, today pretty much what they had against Boyd County on Friday night.

This was CovCath 20 victory for the season and the 21th consecutive year that Coach Krumps has guided the Colonels to 20 plus victories. Congrats Coach Krumps. Way to go seniors.......

(20th victory of the season for CovCath)

Smith finished the game.

Good hitting by the Colonels, with Maile, Popham, and Bleser all having big hits. Connor Larkin scored 4 runs this game as well.

Duh.... You are correct sir..... I got to start taking notes...... Long, drive home in the rain........ Game also only went I think only 5 inings.....

Congrats to coack K for getting his 20 games under his belt with the young players and handful of seniors he has. Not an easy accomplishment with the quality of teams playing in 07.

I believe it was Smith who finished pitching the game not Pauly.

Rams had way to many errors to even have a chance to win this one. Congrats CovCath. Good luck the rest of the way.

First congratulations on CovCath. win. I am presenting a theory to Ram fans. See what you think. It is obvious to me there some very talented young men and coaches that played the game on that team. However this team doesnt seem to bond together at all. Its like they have put a bunch ot strangers on the field to play for the first time. All talented but not together. Could it be the fact that past Raceland teams came up through the ranks together playing little league then playing babe ruth and jv at the same time then moving on to high school. The only players I think is left that have done that is the seniors. Most either played for a different league or waited until jv to play at all together. Just a theory but what do you think? They are not clicking together as a team. Right now they are only having successful moments not games.

Congratulations to Coach Krumps and his players for picking up their 21ST consecutive 20 win season.

What's the record for most consecutive 20 win seasons and who?

There may or may not be something to that oldram, most Raceland teams of the past have came up thorough L.L., Babe Ruth and the like all together. I don't however blame all of this on the youth leagues they played in or not played together in. Imo this team has had plenty enough time to gel together and work together as a "team", seems like the Rams obviously are having some troubles in playing together, concentrating, etc.. I just hope that they can get things worked out by the district. I thought that they had but I guess not. One thing is that Boyd and Cov Cath are 2 very good baseball teams, imo the Rams should definately play them a lot tougher than they did though. Congrats to Cov Cath on the win.

Oldram, after watching your team play against Boyd County and then CovCath (remember both are top 20 teams in the state), what I saw was a young team (at least they looked like that to me) and they played like one. The physical errors, while I know everybody hates them, happen, but it's the mental mistakes that kill you and thats what I saw from your team. Players not backing up each other, fielders not covering their base, players being undecided on what I should be doing. To your coaches credit, I heard them talking to your kids during the game and between the innings. Give these young players a chance, they didn't give up, and you could see they love playing the game...

I personally want to thank everyone that has responded to my theory. I agree with all of the opinions offered also. Its always a heartbreaker to see such talent. I know we are behind them heart and soul. I know we have had some talented football and basketball players in years past and it just hasnt gone our way. Its my hope that these boys end on a great note. I was accused on another thread of wanting to get a thread shut down. Heavens no. I congratulate all these teams. It is so great seeing great ball being played. Its always exciting to watch these teams and what these coaches have worked for start working. I guess us old people just have extra time on our hands to rack our brains about whats going wrong. Ok Ramblers we have not given up nor are we going too. I agree its a young team but there is no better time than now to get it going lets not wait until next year what we can accomplish this year.
