What kind of team is Boyd looking to have next year ?

Zornes is basically a legend at Boyd. He left and had a ridiculous amount of success at Ironton. He had a 66-9 record at Ironton including a 26-1 state runner up season. I just personally can't see him coming back to Boyd unless the future looked bright. I've heard his name come up quite a bit lately though.

I think Boyd returns all area player Selby and beyond that I am not sure. The district is going to be good this upcoming season with Fairview having a lot of young talent, Ashland will have Thomas back, Rose Hill will be loaded so whoever takes over is going to have their hands full just within the 64th.

Ashland also has Bonner and Coleman back as well. Believe Boyd has Mayhew and Wilson back in addition to Selby. Rose Hill has whole team back and Fairview has 3 very good Soph's. 64th is loaded. Of course Elliott has entire team back as well. Should be a great year in the 16th. :ylsuper:

Good Luck Phil you will be missed. Phil was competitive and wanted to win but I think his main goals were to take kids and turn them in to successful young adults. Phil is a family man and if you played for him you were part of his family. Spending quality time hunting or fishing away from basketball where the word basketball never came up were some of the the most enjoyable times for him and the young men who played for him.

 

There may have been coaches with better overall W/L records.

 

But theres a saying that a coaches players are a dirrect reflection of him, if that is the case then he may well have been one of the best coaches to ever come thru the region.

That is quite an endoresement.

While I dont think this announcement was much of a surprise to those close to the BC program it doesnt make the loss any less great. Ol Mr Webster could have easily inserted Phil Pratt's picture when it came time to define "classy".

 

As for his replacement......Not sure Coach Zornes will be the guy.
