How did Cena win?

Orton was laying flat on back, HBK sweet chinned music Cena and he landed on Orton. Michaels and Edge were so beaten and wore down that none of them could get there quick enough to stop the 3 count.

Since we are on a WWF discussion, am I the only one that misses the days of just FOUR PPV's a year. You could really draw out storylines and build up "tension" by doing that. One a month is way, WAY too many.

 

Not to mention that you could actually have matches that meant something at an event other than a PPV. Since I stopped paying attention as much, I've lost track of the truthfulness of this statement, but at one point in time it had been 5 years (since 2001) since the last heavyweight title change on RAW. There had been ONE on Smackdown during that time. So we're talking one switch of the most major belt in 5 years that didn't take place on a PPV. Why exactly would I bother to watch the "main event" of RAW when I know the outcome? Especially when I know it's an awful wrestler like Cena.

So in other words, they found yet another way to keep the belt on Cena despite the fact he's an awful wrestler, and awful character, and doesn't deserve it.

 

He's just not that good. When your champion is a face (good guy), but the people boo him relentlessly, THAT'S A BAD SIGN WWE!

BOO HIM!! Last night he was the only wrestler that got everyone on their feet. Not a good character --- WOW are you watching the same shows I am... He constantly puts on a good show and is very entertaining.

Difference of opinion I suppose. I'm not certain how you cannot hear the boos that follow him at most events. Take the day after Wrestlemania when he came out on RAW. Lots of boos. He got a mixed reaction at best after he won at Wrestlemania.

 

I didn't see Backlash, so I don't know, maybe they did get on their feet for him. All I know is that the Marine gimmick was over (popular) with the fans at first. Since then it has gotten a little tired and in general, the fans don't like it anymore. I'm guessing that you are an exception. Personally, I just don't think he's that talented.

I dont necessarily like John Cena, but sooooo many fans last night did.. I did hear on Raw after Wrestlemania, but I still think the majority like him. I would like to see HBK win the title again though?

I would like to see HBK win it again also. I think he will pretty soon or otherwise why would they have him in these type of matches & in the matches he is in on RAW when he is getting up there in age & has been around a long time. You have Cena, Edge, Orton & HBK. Those are their (WWE's) top 4 right now & have been for a while. Just a matter of time until HBK gets the title.

I read once awhile ago that alot of times they give the title to the wrestler they want to push and needs the heat/attention to get the fans to give them a look.

 

HBK doesn't need the title to get the fans fired up.

I can't stand John Cena...he's one reason why I don't even consider watching wrestling anymore. I wouldn't watch it regularly anyway, but I'd probably watch it a little. There's no point in it because Cena is like Hulk Hogan during the NWO days...WCW ran that into the ground by never letting Hogan lose. Looks like WWE would learn something...I don't like Cena's gimmick and, like you, I don't think he's that good. He doesn't entertain like some do. WWE is past it's revival anyway...when HBK, HHH, Stone Cold, The Rock, and Mick Foley...that was when it was at its best. Now, it's all scripted...they guys have no charisma, no mic skills, and it's just not entertaining. The WWE needs to let some guys freelance with the mic and find out who's got some real mic skills and let the fans decided who draws the reaction (good or bad), instead of manufacturing stories and dialogue. It's just not that good...and John Cena is the poster boy for the new, and unimproved, WWE.

I dont think that was when it was at its best. IMO I thought it was at its best right before the Degeneration X came about. It was when you started seeing all the groups form that it seemed to become more like soaps and scripted and not wrestling anymore. I know I got to the point I completely stopped watching wrestling. However honestly I think it has started to slowly get back into wrestling, because a couple of years ago they were doing alot more acting instead of wrestling, so I just glad to see that they are starting to actually wrestle again even though it still needs to improve...I do like Cena actually, but he has had the belt way to long and needs to lose, and the Great Kahli better be the guy who does it, because no way they should have Cena beat him...

I really dont hear to many boo's and really probably the only people who boo him is the people who love HBK and since Cena is fighting him they are going to boo. HBK is one of the most popular wrestlers in history so usually whoever he fights that person is going to get booed some. But for the most part Cena is a definite fan favorite...However I admit they need to have him lose the title, and if he fights the Great Kahli like it looks like they are setting up then he better lose to him...

No group was ever better than the 4 Horseman. Their battles with Sting, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, etc are legendary.
