That's a great game given that Pace is the #1 team in Class 5A in Florida and has been playing games since the beginning of February. In fact, we should all be impressed with how well our KY teams do against these teams from Florida who aren't saddled with the rule that they can't play regular season games until after basketball season is over. They get to start their season early and spread their season out and their kids stay fresher (IMHO). Our season is just beginning, theirs is toward the end, yet our guys do great.

Some of the Florida schools in the Ft. Walton area use this tournament as a fund raising opportunity by hosting games at their facilities. I'm not sure if they charge the tournament organizers a rental fee for use of the fields. When we were there a few years ago, some of the Florida high schools were on Spring Break (not that they really needed one). A great tournament and some great fields.

Glascow 2

Owensboro Catholic went 5-1 on its spring break trip. They beat Decatur AL and Austin AL on the trip down and then were the runner up in Tates Puma/ Gata tournament beating Pine forrest FL, Tate, West FL, and losing a heartbreaker to Beech HS from Hendersonville TN. Played some great competition and got alot better. That's what it is all about.

Corbin went 4-1 on their Florida trip with the loss to an Ohio team that turned a triple play to end the game while holding a 2 run lead.
