I heard the big Learch has the finals tonight. I heard he was bragging about how he was going to "sit coach Hicks down" to some of the other refs. I don't know what the supervising officials are thinking if he's really got this game. He was one of the two worst refs in the whole tourhament.

I have sat all week with Portwoods grandparents, and they were not happy that this ref had the finals .

 

One of my favorite players of the whole tourney ( besides my cards) is Baloou (sp) of Adair Co. Look forward to watching this kid play next year. Hope they are invited to the 5/3.

Regarding Adair Co. and the 5/3....At this time they have an invite to the King of the Bluegrass, which is being played the same time as the 5/3 next year if I understand correctly.

Different times, KOB before christmas and 5/3 after.

He had just as horrible game in the finals.

Not complainig at all or anything. But how is it that both teams were shooting 1 and 1 in the first and the third quarters? A lot of nicky nacky stuff and then at times they would let them play. Very inconsistent. I can handle refs being consistently good or bad as long as the make the same calls all game, but if they change several times during the game thats bad officiating.

The big ref was MUCH better in the finals than he was in our game against Adair Co. He made the obvious calls and not too many of the ones that could be let go. I still don't like that he always waits to see if a shot goes in before a calling a foul - give the kids some "and one" opportunities... I busted him pretty hard after Adair, but he was ok last night.

I'm going to disagree with you on that one Hoops. I thought he had a bad game in the finals also. Does anyone know what region he represented?

There was a goaltending call where a ballard kid grabbed the net - he got it right. He didn't call a bunch of ticky-tack stuff on Walls and Mackey like he did against Adair. He wasn't great, but he wasn't as bad as the first time we had him.

 

I think he was from the 3rd region.

Ray Charles could have done better than he did in the SC-Adair game.
