This is ridiculous. What happened had nothing to do with race. If UK was so racist, why was Tubby the coach for 10 years? Why does he still have so many supporters around the state, even though the program is way below the standards set in previous years at the school? UK fans just want to win. They want the games to be fun to watch again. No one cares what color the coach is!

Here's the bottom line. Tubby wasn't getting it done the "Kentucky way"...so fans get angry...complain to Mitchy boy. Mitchy is going to save his own behind and do what the fans want. If Mitchy doesn't do this....the fans would be asking for his job next!!

Of course they do. All Tubby had to do was win and keep a nice flow of talent coming into the program and he would have been fine. I just don't see the whole racist thing, of course there are some idiots who still have a problem with African-Americans but there is nothing that can be done about that. Face it, basketball is an African-American dominated game so if everyone wants to get rid of Tubby because of his race do they want Randolph Morris to go pro because of his... Don't think so!

Rick Barnes has taken a football school -- Texas -- to a Final Four (2003) and an Elite Eight (2006) in the past five years. He is a big-time recruiter (see Durant, Kevin). He has a prickly personality, but the fact is, it seems to take a certain level of churlishness to succeed as UK coach.

 

Barnes said last week he wouldn't be interested in the Kentucky job

 

No coach would say they wanted the job. Tubby was still the coach. Coaches are fraternal and wouldn't want to step on another's toes. Would Barnes make the same comment today? Not sure.

No actually it was still up in the air. I never have thought Patterson was going to come as I think his heart is with the Gators, now Lucas might have came but that still wouldn't have been great class.

That would be two good classes according to the recruiting experts. Junior and Freshmen class. Then if Patterson and Lucas would have added, he would have probably had 3 out of 4.

Patterson and Lucas was the best case sceniaro... I don't think we were getting Patterson no matter who the coach was and 3 out of 4 with a non-exsitent junior-to-be class still isn't UK standards.
