It was just time for a change... It's good for Tubby, it's good for UK. Tubby seems like a great person but the pressure of the UK job just ate him alive.

So, you were satisfied w/ the program this year? Tubby was not getting paid to be a nice guy!! You dont get paid $2 Million per year to get beat in the 2nd round & to know there is no possibly of making the Sweet 16 much less the Final Four.

 

No one better than Tubby?? He coached @ Tulsa & Georgia before KY & hasnt won a national championship since 1998 (w/ someone elses recruits). The program will be alright!!!

And the EXACT reason why I feel several NCAA coaches will pass on what some UK Fans think is the best coaching job in the nation. Actually, it is one of the worse as far as being able to coach basketball.

 

 

Just wait & see!!! The UK job is one of the top 10 jobs in the country. #1 all time wins, $30 mil facility, name recognition..... A coach should put more pressure on himself than the fans can. A loss didnt seem to bother Tubby!! Maybe be got use to it b/c of all the 10 loss seasons that we've had lately!!

Tubby just doesn't have the make to coach in a high pressure situation as some other coaches do... Many would relish the idea to come in and coach in big game after big game. This just wasn't Tubby's cup of tea, he will be happy in Minn. where if they make it to the Sweet 16 it's like winning a national championship.

Going undefeated in SEC play.

If none of the above satisfies you as an UK fan, you would be an unrealistic UK fan.

But I didn't see Tubby not making shots. I didn't see Tubby not grabbing rebounds. I didn't see Tubby turning the ball over. That is the players.

I agree next year might be a rough one, but if we get the right man for the job things will be much better long-term.

ladiesbballcoach it has nothing to do with the number of teams, its all about what is expected of the program, at big football schools they go to BCS games, at big basketball schools, they go to final fours. Kentucky doesn't do 20 win seasons and sec championships.

I did see Tubby recruiting the players that missed shots and not grabbing rebounds.

And don't come back with this "well Morris, Crawford, ect. were a bust". I'm not talking about them I'm talking about Woo, Thomas, Carter (if he was healthy) Perry(no, five good games in four years doesn't validate him from not being a UK caliber player) along with all of the non-UK caliber players that have left the team: Sims, A. Williams, ect. And you can go ahead and add another non-UK caliber player coming next year if he decides to still come in M.Williams.

Tubby averaged 26 wins per season. That is several over 20 win seasons.

 

I guess you would have supported the removal of Adolph Rupp also. In his last approximately 14 years on the job, he had 1 Final Four appearance.
