The Headband Theory...

Featured Replies

The NBA fans are probably the only ones with any interest in this but...

UKPat02 has a theory that players who wear headbands during games are more likely to get into trouble than players who don't wear headbands... Let's ponder this one, shall we?

Rasheed Wallace wears a headband... He's a thug.

Rip Hamilton wears a headband... He is not.

Ron Artest does not wear a headband... He's a thug.

Dwyane Wade does not wear a headband... He is not.

I want some analysis on the player's who have been in the most trouble in the past... We'll say... 5 years... And then we'll get a percentage on how many of them wear headbands.

Catchmeifyoucan, you've got work to do.

Headband:

Kwame Brown: Throwing Birthday cake at a guy.

Acused of rape in 2003 I think.

Melo: Busted with wed but "It was his friends"

Allen Iverson: Countless "Thug" acts.

Jermaine O'neal, Jamal Tinsley, Steven Jackson: Nuff said. O'neal might be gettin bad rap just for the fight.

Non headband:

Kobe Bryant: Aquited of rape charges.

Jermaine O'neal decked the fan back at the palace a few years ago, and has had some minor things since then. Almost all of the trailblazers wear headbands, and well, pretty much all of the Trailblazers wear headbands, thats all you need to know.

There is so many you can put on either side of the fence. The number of players without headbands heavily out weights the ones that do.

Many times players who wear a headband are tabed with the "thug" lable. In some cases it is true, but many players wear a headband. I am personally not a fan of the headband.

And thats what we are trying to prove(kinda).

Let's just get some research of the past... We'll say 5 years... Off the field incidents and suspensions... Technicals would be way too much work... And then figure out what % of them wear headbands...

And again, when I say "Let's" I mean "Catchmeifyoucan, you have work to do." :D

It is realy almost too close to call on this one.

Best of all.............................................................

Latrell Spreewell rocked the headband. Get it Spree.

What teams have headbands as part of the required uniform?

The Blazers did a few years ago, don't know if they still do.

Well, if we throw Sprewell in (retired player), then we can throw Rodman in on the non-headband side to cancel him out.

I don't think ANY teams have that.

So either way it doesn't matter.

Maybe not... I could be wrong about the Blazers... Maybe just every single player on their team wanted to wear a headband... This was during the Pippen era.
