February 21, 200719 yr I agree. When Tubby's offense was rolling was Hayes, tremendous passer, from the high post to Daniels or vice versa. Perry, Thomas, stephenson have not worked out. :thumb: Very good point lbbc, I personally love the hi-lo sets on offense.
February 21, 200719 yr You guys do know that Meeks is getting 20 minutes a game, right? He's not exaclty chained to the bench. Jasper is getting 22. And you have noticed how we have scored around maybe 2 points in the first 6 or 7 minutes of the game the last couple of games. Could that be because we only have THREE guys who can score in the lineup, and if they are off then we are not going to score with the starters. Yeah honestly it would be better having Meeks coming off the bench cause its nice having a guy who can score come in off the bench, but it would be even more nice to have guys in to start the game who can score and stop us from getting down double digits to start every single game...

February 21, 200719 yr This is the wrong way to think about it. Look at it by position, and it becomes clear: PG: Who's the better PG, Jasper or Bradley? The answer is Jasper. 2G: Who's the better 2G, Bradley or Meeks? This one is at least debatable, but right now I think it's Bradley with reins on. 3G/SF: Who's the better 3, Crawford or Meeks? Crawford. Tubby has this right, IMO. If we play like we did yesterday and have alot more of an up tempo type game with us pressing and moving alot on offense then yeah it probably is better with Jasper in the point. But if we stick to what we usually do and that is the slow down half court offense, Jasper DOES NOTHING on offense to help. In the half court offense not only does he not score, but he does not set up anyone else or get any assists. Now if we decide to play faster all the time then Jasper at the point is great because it allows him to pass on the move, but that is not what we usually do and having Jasper at the point then usually dont help much IMO...
February 21, 200719 yr If you noticed yesterday Crawford and Meeks brought the ball up at times in the second half. I did notice Meeks bring the ball up alot in the second half, but I really didn't see Crawford doing that. What I saw from Crawford was a guy sitting on the bench alot in the first half because he couldn't play defense and just wasn't playing the smart on offense as well. Crawford like Morris seems to have to many games where it just dont seem like he is in to it. Both him and Morris make me so mad sometimes, but I do absolutely love Meeks!!!
February 21, 200719 yr Bradley has 3 assists and 12 turnovers the last 3 games. That does not sound like point guard numbers to me. Kentucky's slump corresponds with Bradley's increased scoring. The ref changed the ball every time out against Alabama because Bradley beat the tread off of it. The lack of scoring at the 4spot is more of a problem.
