How a thread honoring a great player turns into an indirect shot at another player's achievement.

I have to give you the benefit of the doubt, ScottCountyFan, and say I understand that you reacted to what you thought was, at best, a cheap shot and, at worst, a direct criticism of a kid...but let me assure you, it was not. My daughter and I attended the game during which Jonathan broke the school record and are big fans...of him and his entire family.

My apologies Himmelfarb, if my remarks to you on the thread helped lead it in this direction. I sure like both the paper and Vanhoose, and I have been glad to see him play also. I thought the earlier remarks were just kidding amongst friends, nothing more. I think it's nice to have an article about your players in the paper no matter how large or small the article is. Congrats again to Emily for this acheivement. And to all of her teammates who have been a part of it.

Back up the bus, pal. No one claimed to have been mistreated...at least not here. My tongue-in-cheek remark to ShooterX3 was exactly that...tongue-in-cheek...as I'm sure ShooterX3 readily recognized. The kids themselves would laugh about the matter...and do so. It's no big deal.

 

You treat this discussion as it if those under discussion and those participating don't know each other and would not quite normally shell out such give-and-take in person. That just isn't so and the kind of hypersensitivity that some have demonstrated is unwarranted, in my view.

 

 

No one has taken a shot or demeaned anyone, least of all a kid we all know and care for.

Its all dust!

What makes Emily a great scorer is also her ability to pass the ball. When she is passing the ball in an efficient manner (especially on breaks) it opens up her entire game because teams cannot double team a great passer and because of this, Emily has had more one on one situations that has enabled her to score at will. She is a great player and it has been fun watching her play throughout her career.
