Carroll County makes the trip to Lloyd Friday the 23rd to take on the Juggs. I like the Juggs in this one by a running clock. Lloyd needs to clean up the mistakes and get back on track.

I see a clear Lloyd win but a running clock will surprise me.

If Lloyd doesn't "clock" them, then they have issues and they might as well go ahead and start working on their free throws for when basketball rolls around here soon.

Lloyd's starters and rotation players however do need to play close to a full game for endurance reasons. They got a lot of kids that do not come off the field and being in shape has to be a priority. Playing a half doesn't do much for in-game conditioning, especially after a bye week. They played a half vs Pendleton then went and got worked in the first quarter vs Bourbon.

Lloyd needs to get their confidence and swag back. Lloyd lost to Bourbon by less than an inch. I get it, that hurts and is deflating, even more when the district title is on the line. Even more so when you know that last play is perfectly capable of being made. Lloyd needs to get over it!!!!! I watched that game after hearing about how good of a game it was and it wasn't disappointing it was a good entertaining game. Once Lloyd got punched in the mouth a couple times, both teams played with a ton of emotion and a ton of effort. There was bodies being thrown around everywhere by both teams. That's the type of game you want to be apart of. Line up and crack each other until the whistle blows. Line up and do it again, and again and again until the final whistle. When it goes down like that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Both teams left it all on the field. Noticed quite a few offset personal foul penalties. That means the refs respected the effort and intensity that both teams were bringing and called it both ways. That's a dawg fight.

With that being said, Lloyd was fortunate they didn't lose by 30 the way Bourbon jumped out all over them. Bourbon came out ready to go straight out the gate. Lloyd showed alot of grit by battling back in that one and actually taking the lead late in the game but you can't come out flat like they did and beat a quality opponent. They pretty much spotted Bourbon 21 points. The last play of the game didn't lose it for them, the opening kickoff that went for a TD, Lloyd's first attempt to punt which they botched on their own 10 and the 2nd kickoff they let get returned to the 5 is what handicapped them. Special teams are crucial. I said it before Lloyd's Campbell County game that their kick off team was a liability. I would think that's been addressed.

I know Lloyd hadn't lost a regular season game in a long time so maybe they forgot but every now and then you do take a L. How you respond to a L is the important thing.

They responded by beating Henry County 14-7. That's more concerning than the L to Bourbon, by far. No clue how that game looked but they had to of been flat. Did they let Bourbon take all their confidence, swag, and heart they built up over the past few years because they lost 1 hard fought game? If so, that's soft and immature.

No way they came out in the Henry game with the same energy and intensity they did against Conner: Lloyd with a 50 yard passing TD on the second play of the game, then the defense forced a fumble on their first defensive series and then the offense followed it with another score a few plays later. 14-0 in the blink of an eye.

No way they came out the way they did against Campbell County: 50 yard pick 6 on the 2nd play of the game and then a 60 yard TD on their 2nd offensive play. 14-0 in the blink of an eye. Where is that Lloyd team at? Consistency is key.

Lloyd did have lapses in both their Conner and Campbell games and I think that's where their egos kicked in. " Oh we like that ". Hold up, not so fast, respect the process and the game young fellas. And they got it back on track in those games. Now Bourbon showed them you can't always escape with a W with those type of lapses.

No way Lloyd played with the heart they did in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th quarters of the Bourbon game vs Henry. If they played Henry to the level they are capable of playing they win that game 42-7.

Maybe they thought they were going to get off the bus for their first true away games outside the Tri State area and were going to just be handed W's vs Bourbon and Henry. Well that didn't work out like they were thinking and now their confidence is hurt and there is second guessing going around.

Lloyd....Quit second guessing, suck it up, wipe the blood off your mouth and if you truely have been working for it then go get it. If you haven't really been working for what you want then you reap what you sew, if you have been working har, then believe in your team.

So yeah, if Lloyd doesn't come out vs Carroll County focused, fast, dominant for 4 quarters and " clock " them then I am concerned how far they go in the playoffs. Concerned they may be out of shape, concerned their egos may break their focus. Concerned they are all bark and no bite. When you get tired, you lose focus. When your ego gets too big, you lose focus. When it gets tough do you really have the heart to keep focus on the task at hand or do you fold?

Have an ego Friday night after the game with your girlfriend, Saturday watching CFB with the boys, maybe Sunday watching NFL. Monday morning that stinky ego needs to be put in the trash can. Talent is not Lloyd's issue. Ego and conditioning is their problem. It's possible to play hard, intense, passionate and stay focused all at the same time for 4 quarters but not if you let ego and conditioning get in the way.

I will take Lloyd in this one 56-6

#31 8/8 on PAT's

#10 200+ Passing yards

#2 100+ rushing

2 Defensive/Special teams TD's

Come on Juggs, get your mind right! Plenty of football left to play don't sleep walk through the next few weeks.

After seeing the Bourbon County score, I agree it should be a running clock.
