I have to admit that I always get nervous for this game.

So, I did feel like it might be closer.

But this was never a game. X never once showed me anything that said they could score a point.

That was dreadful.

Congrats Rocks. Still need to clean some things up....but big Ws over the rival are nice!

Jason crushes it for Louisville HS sports...If the C-J pulls the same crap the group did in Lexington he should be able to find a job by midnight!

  • Trinity QB Zane Johnson is 9 Touchdown Passes away from tying Brian Brohm's Trinity career record. He has 110 currently with 10 of them coming this season so far.

  • I hesitate to say it will be a running clock win by the Rocks, but I am going with a running clock win by the Rocks.

Great weather and a great performance from the Rocks tonight!

Trinity was simply the better team in all facets of the game. Johnson was dialed in with the passing game, throwing for over 300 yards. Stivers continued to look like Trinity's best pass-catcher while the RB duo of Taylor and Berry continued to shine. EBC and Carney were the big stars on defense, locking down the Tigers on the back end and at the line.

X had no answers. Certainly not the showing the Tigers faithful wanted to see in Landis' rivalry debut. Lots of chatter about the QB situation and the night's decision at starter amongst fans.

Trinity gets their 53rd win in the series and 3rd win in a row. Believe Jay Cobb is 5-3 against X now. The Rocks have outscored the Tigers 129-31 in their past three meetings.

Trinity's win over St. Xavier costs them TWO spots in the RPI 6A eatings.

Trinity and St Xavier will not play at Lou City soccer stadium unless the grass damage insurance is dropped, waived, or paid by someone else. My understanding is Lynn Family Stadium wants$20,000 to $30.000 put up in case grass is damaged. As unpredictable as weather forecasts are in Louisville, I do not see this as an acceptable risk for the teams.

South Warren's loss dropped them below Trinity. Trinity is now #4 in 6A RPI trailing Douglass, Manual, and Madison Central.

Missed listening to the whole first half, but in the postgame Cobb sounded pretty upset with the Rocks' performance.

In any case, by my count Zane Johnson needs 5 to tie, 6 to break Brian Brohm's Trinity career passing TD record. Additionally, EBC is at 6 picks on the year, meaning he's 1 away from tying Anthony Wajda for what I believe is the Trinity single season record. By no means am I "stats' but that's what I have from a little side project that I keep tabs on.

Joe Bryant '74 is the all time leader in INTs with 22 and 13 in a season...Last two years have been school records for INTs though
