Greenup County Travels to Russell on Friday for a 7:30 Start in the Backyard Brawl.

Who gets the win?

I'll take Russell 28-14.

Both teams have to feel good about their Week 1 wins, going on the road and taking care of business.

Greenup will give Russell's defense a very different look that they got from Coal Grove. Jasper Davis is a dual threat quarterback that the Devils have to contain. Limit his effectiveness and you have the Musketeers right where you want them.

Conversely, Russell needs to show that they can rely on someone other than Kaiden Benge. I expect the new quarterback to be challenged by Greenup in ways that he wasn't last week. If he plays well, it opens everything else up for the Devils. If he gets rattled and turns the ball over, Greenup will be in an advantageous position.

I look for a spirited battle with Russell edging the Musketeers at home.

Bump.

This should be an interesting game. I think Greenup is a little better than most of us expected them to be in the early season. Coach Jones and staff have put the work in during the off-season.

Russell may be a little better than expected too.

I think Davis is ahead of schedule and should be fun to watch. I expect Greenup County to get in a full-house some and try to out muscle the Red Devils. The big question is, is Russell too much faster for the Musketeers?

Should be a fun game.
