The Juggs travel to the new NCC field for the first game ever! Lloyd is returning a lot but has not shown much of anything this preseason. The offense is not clicking and the secondary looks suspect. Hope they figure it out. Juggs win a close one 28-21.

New Cath played one heck of a game. They went toe to toe with a good 3A program. I expect them to get better each week. Head up Breds.

This should be a huge opening right? I would think many former players would be here for what should of been done ages ago.

I thought the Juggs showed some bursts again Dixie yesterday.

Who got ejected from Lloyd last night?

Very few in my opinion. Offensively, they looked like they just couldn't find a grove or just didn't hit a rhythm. Barger was throwing nice balls but they were dropped. Not real accurate yet, but catchable balls. Defensively, well I felt we held up decent on the line but still got moved a bit. Secondary looks like the problem. I am hoping they were just looking at different bodies in there to see who can get the job done. Other than that the secondary will need some work. Now, with that being said! I believe the coaching staff and these young men will figure out what they need to do but they don't want to wait to long to find the rhythm. Lloyd needs to win the district. Bourbon County has something to say from last year, and that game is not too far away. GO JUGGS!

We lost a linebacker and they lost the two that left the bench during the altercation. Not sure if I should give names.

Lloyd was up against a superior football team in Dixie. I watched enough to know the Juggs were competitive but rough around the edges. I agree with you on the coaching staff, Lloyd is in good hands.

859 Sports Radio is on YouTube and streaming this game!

From Mark Wehry:

Watch the inaugural varsity football game on Bob Schneider field as part of the Ciafardini Family Athletic Complex when NCC hosts Lloyd Friday 8/21 at 7:00 on 859SportsRadio.com with Mark Wehry and Kevin Connor and Bill Bartlett the best cameraman in the business.

Shells all week. Dale Mueller was the first coach that I knew of up here that would have his guys practice in shells for an entire week depending on the opponent. I was always jealous of that as we were beating each other up on Tuesday and Wednesdays. How the times have changed.

I think in a real game, they'll find their grove with Barger running more. He's a threat on the ground, and it looked like they only had a couple designed runs for him in that scrimmage.

Their identity will be the ground game, whether out of that split back look w/ the two tackles on one side, or out of the Pistol. They have gone overbalanced a lot to take advantage of their size. They have two good backs and the QB can really run. Their line, however, hasn't been what I thought it would be w/ that experience. Both Cooper and Dixie won that battle. The QB is doing what he can, but he's going to be streaky. NewCath has to limit them to 4 or less plays over 20 yards. Make them win grinding. They have home run hitters, but do they have the ability to sustain drives? Both teams come into this one w/ a lot of questions to answer offensively.

Yeah, the officials said QB's were off limits and not to run the ball and I didn't understand that. I agree on let's see how well we can sustain a drive. Also, very catchable balls were dropped and the DB's looked a little lost. This is why we play scrimmage games, to work it out, and I think they will. I just don't think NCC has improved enough to beat Lloyd with all the returning players Lloyd has. This will be closer than last year but the experience wins this one.

I didn't see enough from NewCath to see explosive capabilities yet. That's why they need this to be a grind and not a track meet. They are replacing a TON of production. Their lines are light years ahead of where they were at this time last year. I'm not smart enough to know how they compare to Cooper and Dixie.

If Lloyd is going to be a force in 3A they should "clock" NewCath.
