Last year the Cru finished out their inaugural season of varsity football with a 2-9 record after finishing the regular season at 2-8. Their first program win came on September 26th when they beat Gallatin County 21-12 at home in Erlanger, and they notched their second program win the following week with a 40-12 win at home against Owen County. Success was hard to come by for their new program for the rest of the season, though, with the Crusaders being outscored 394-47 by their remaining opponents from last year's schedule.

Looking on the brighter side, St. Henry only lost 13 of their 55-player roster to graduation, and they return all but one player who saw time in their offensive backfield. The team spent much of last year trying to identify their best quarterback moving forward, with junior Ryne Ravenscraft, sophomore Imer Viveros, and freshmen Cy Parento & Gunner Irvin all seeing significant time behind center. That should give Coach Odom a lot to work with for the competition for 2026 QB1.

Leading rusher Caden Kunstek was among the players who graduated this past May, but #2 rusher Lucas Pate and his younger brother, #3 rusher Owen Pate, will both presumably be returning for their senior and sophomore years, respectively. Top receiver David Penick will also presumably return as a sophomore this season. 12 of the 20 interior linemen on the 2025 roster were underclassmen, while 3 were juniors and 5 were seniors. With experience and growth among the returners on the line, you can certainly expect to see more success by the Cru up front this year.

After dipping their toe into varsity football last year there's still a lot to develop at St. Henry, but there's certainly no lack of excitement for football in Erlanger.

I look for St. Henry to make the playoffs again this year, and to possibly be a 3 seed this year.

I'm sure there will be plenty more growing pains, but like @Colonels_Wear_Blue wrote, there's certainly no lack of excitement. All about taking it one step at a time. Will miss Kunstek in the backfield. Maybe this year the Cru can avoid opening the season by giving up a kick return TD August 21 can't get here soon enough.
