Turnovers have plagued them all year and been the biggest issue. They simply don't respect possessions. They look out of control and sorts. If your offense depends on one guy setting screens and ball handlers picking up their dribble and/or not driving off the screen....not going to be successful on average.

When enrollment goes down, what follows? Talent shrinks. Depth shrinks.  Why did enrollment drop? One major reason: facilities. Legacy families began choosing surrounding schools that invested while NewCath lagged behind due to old debt. 

NewCath Administration studied this, built a vision and a plan, and significant financial support was ready to follow.  Fast forward to today—enrollment is already rising. A beautifully remodeled school and a state-of-the-art athletic complex are about to open.  Build it. Provide it. They will come. And the incoming numbers prove this. 

When multiple programs decline at the same time, that’s not luck or coaching—it’s enrollment, and enrollment follows investment.

100%. There isn’t some nefarious thing. The school was hung out to dry by the Diocese in the 2000s and 2010s falling way behind Highlands in what it could offer academically in regards to programs centered around technology. Fast forward, creative partnerships and investment in modernization have closed the gap a good bit. I’m telling you, if people outside ofNewCath knew what Collopy and Gray are doing up there with the rest of the administration, they would be inspired to donate capital or time bc it is inspiring. 

I do think some people have started to notice the awesome things that Mr. Collopy and Ms. Gray have been doing.  People need to understand the younger generation of alumni are not living in or around Newport.  Most choose to send their kids elsewhere due to ease of transportation or they have friends going to other schools.  I do see things changing with all the great things going on at NCC.

That's a reason I can definitely see the logic behind. I really do hope NCC can find massive success going forward. It has just been a rough decade in those 3 sports, at least compared to the 10 years or so before. (And yes, absolutely for football classification plays in.)

No denying the difference in success by decades. Appreciate the sentiment on going forward. The culture is on fire up there. The wins will return, just got to stress the importance of having the right butts in the right seats, all paddling in the same direction. We got a good one in Collopy for sure.
