Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been charged with rigging pitches and face potential prison sentences of up to 65 years.  Both were suspended with pay last season.  
 

 

Read that Clase's connections made $400K and Ortiz's made $60K. 

I have so many questions about the pitches in question. How did bettors know which pitch to bet on is my biggest question? Did they use pitch count to sync up bets and balls. Like tonight I'll throw a ball on pitches 3. 18, 26, 38, 49 and 60...place your bets. Is that how they did it, or was someone signaling them when to throw a ball? That info may be out there I just haven't seen it.

As much fun as it can be, gambling and greed to manipulate it will ruin sports as we know them.

Individual player prop bets are just way too easy to manipulate.

I’m ancient and I’ve never placed so much as a nickel on sports betting other than at the track.

I've bet at the track a few times and a couple years ago I did someone small beans online stuff with free money being offered.

I agree. 

The crazy thing is you can’t even make that much money on most player props as the average bettor, unless you lay a ton on a “long shot.”

I do zero sports gambling, so take my comment for what it is worth.

Is this the end of individual player prop bets? What leverage do NFL, MLB, NBA, NCAA, et al have to stop these types of bets?

Sports credibility is walking a fine line with gambling and greed.
