Lloyd 41 Henry County 6

Featured Replies

Final per the 859 Insider Network broadcast.

Very impressive season for Lloyd to this point, happy for them.

@DRKARK Your boys played pretty well last night. 8-0 let 'em know!

I am going to get straight to it.

I grade this one for the Juggs a B. that's saying something though, that's their highest grade from me so far this year.

I grade this one a D for Henry County. And I feel bad about that because they played hard from the beginning until the end. They have a bunch of hogs on the offensive and defensive line and a haus in #16 Ray. But the amount of penalties that Henry had was just way to unacceptable. I don't get how any team can have that many false start penalties. I do actually think Lloyd's crowd did play a part in a couple of those but Henry...that's unacceptable. That looked like it was a rather thin night for the crowd in Erlanger.

I really thought I was about to dish out Lloyds first A of the season and I was excited too. Even though this was a game that at no point was going to be a contest.

Let me explain my B grade even though it was a 35 point win.

With about 2 minutes left in the 1st qtr Henry had drove the ball convincingly down to Lloyd's 20 with the score 20-0. I'm thinking, yupp..I knew Henry would score 14 because they do have a legitimate run game.

And then you know what happen? Lloyd's defense showed they actually have a backbone. On the first play of the 2nd qtr Lloyd stops Henry at about their 25 yard line on 4th down. I'm like okay, I might actually be able to give out an A grade tonight Lloyd looks like their set on keeping Henry out of the endzone.

Lloyd gets the ball and Lloyd's defense is just chilling and relaxing on the sideline thinking about how many points their offense is going to put up.

But 3 plays later with about 11:40 left in the 2nd qtr Lloyd fumbles the ball at about their own 40. Then Henry County drives the ball straight down Lloyds throats to the end zone for 6.

Lloyd lost their concentration for about 20 seconds just because they got a 4th down stop near the redzone and lost momentum and a shut out. What the Haliburton??? Yup, that's how fast it happens.

Now I'm thinking, wow....another C grade night.

Lloyd proceeded to smoke Henry for the rest of the night. But after the fumble and then Henry's TD nothing was going to change my C grade.

But then....

With the game out of hand 41-6. 4th and 3 with about 4 minutes left and Henry's #16 Ray still in the game trying to add to his night and Lloyd's #7 still trying to prevent Ray's goal, something special happened. No need for either player to still be in the game with most starters from both sides just cheering by now. But something meant something here apparently.

Henry comes to the line and Ray wants this first down bad so they can add to their 6 points. Henry doesn't like what they see so they start changing the play for a for sure first down. But in the midst of changing the play Lloyd's LB's do some unprecedented...they start screaming and waving their hands to pump the crowd and sideline up so Henry can't hear the play call...Is this NCAA25 and there is a crowd pulse????

And out of no where...Erlanger erupts to a point to where I had to turn the volume down on my TV. In a 41-6 game with 4 minutes left and almost no starters in the game. Like what??? Nobody should have been still engaged in that game. But they were and Henry couldn't clearly get the play call and jumped offsides. Then Henry was stopped on 4th and long.

That was beautiful Mr. DRKARK. That itself earned the Juggs my highest grade of the year for them.

I hope them boys see what type of a community they have behind them!

Man, I'm glad I didn't have to sit through films with a coach like you lol! 8-0, running clock, and you vacillate between a C and a B. As far as those false starts, have you watched the Bengals or other NFL teams this year?

This is Lloyd's first 8-0 start since 1995 and sixth time overall (2025, 1995, 1976, 1968, 1966, 1965).  Juggernauts have scored the most amount of points through 8 games in their history, 329.

Year PF PA Result
2025 329 126
1995 294 83 Quarter Final Loss
1976 211 70 Class AAA State Champions
1968 257 75
1966 197 70
1965 274 7 Class A State Champions

B's and C's are not acceptable to me.

I don't think the clock ever ran in this one. That 6 points is the difference between a A and a B. But that's just me.

10:48 to go in the fourth the clock ran @HoneyBadger

Now your paying a little to much attention to a 41-6 ball game lol.
