Meade County ended the night vs Elizabethtown on Friday with another loss, taking their record to 0-4. The GreenWave led for much of this game but their defense seemed to get worn down in the 4th quarter as Elizabethtown sealed the victory with a 4th quarter drive to go up 18-7.

Collins looks to be Meade County's toughest opponent on the season. This one could be a running clock. Meade County's offensive and defensive lines are porous and losing their starting QB vs North Hardin 2 week ago has only added to their woes. The last 2 weeks they have relied on Mr. everything, Wyatt Rainey, to run the wildcat offense in hopes of breaking a long run. He had some success throwing some short and intermediate passes vs Elizabethtown. Most of those plays required him to roll out to avoid a defender and release the ball quickly before being sacked.

Collins QB Kade Goodin is averaging 226 yards per game thru the air. His leading receiver is Aviyan Delaney, (97 yards per game). He is also a threat to run the ball, averaging close to 100 yards rushing per game.

My Prediction: Collins 42 Meade County 14

Serious question for HCP or anyone for that matter

What happened to Meade County? You could always figure they would be competitive in every game. But looks like this year they are really bad.

They lost their starting QB Ethan Jolly to a season ending injury in the second game of the season vs North Hardin. Since North Hardin QB transfer Durrelle Loggins was denied eligibility to play for Meade County, and it is currently in the appeals process with the KHSAA, they have relied on RB Wyatt Rainey to run the offense with him running the ball from the wildcat or throwing short passes to receivers on seams and crossing routes.

The three returning offensive lineman just haven't played well and the defense lost 4 lineman to graduation.

The QB is running for his life most downs just after the ball is snapped and the defensive line has struggled to stop anybody's run game.

FB Cruz Redman return from injury has help the run game between the tackles but with upcoming games at Collins, vs Owensboro Catholic and South Warren as well as Daviess County, it looks likely that they will enter week 9 vs Central Hardin 0-8.

Just doesn't seem to work for everyone does it?  Sadly you can be power running in the Gun and no huddle but it makes it obvious you're grinding the clock lol   I played highschool football at Marshall Co in the late 90s.  We were pretty good ball club for a bunch of country boys with little to no speed, but dang we could pack the box and run the option out of the wishbone.  If you didn't score 21 you were not going to beat us.
