Just was tipped off by a member of the Cov Cath stats crew...last night Cash Harney threw 2 touchdowns, ran for 1 touchdown, and caught 1 touchdown. I'm not sure that we can really confirm it or not, but I think that may be the first time that's happened in program history.

Then today in Cov Cath's JV game against Dixie, Dylan Courtney did the same thing: throwing, running, and catching touchdowns in the same game.

The only other times I can think it might have been potentially possible for a single QB to pass, run, and catch a touchdown in a single game in Cov Cath's football program history were:

- Circa 2002/2003 when Drew Ellison and Kyle Callahan were both playing QB and Callahan was also playing WR.

- Circa 1990/1991 when Dave Wilson was starting QB and moved to starting RB so Adam McCormack could step in as QB.

-Circa 1968/1969 when John Corbett was starting QB and was gradually moved to TE so Tom Thoss could step in as starting QB.

I've become a big Jace Thornton fan. Soph's got a real nose for the ball on special teams - recovered the fumbled kick return that set up CCH's second score. Had a big game for the JV vs. SK last week; multiple tackles, a key on special teams, and tacked on a 22 yd. reception. Ran the fastest 100m of any frosh 4A footballer last spring. ++

Love my young guys getting out there and making the most of their opportunities by making a name for themselves on special teams. Stuff like that really gets respect from the coaches and helps gain their trust.

I think that in 02/03, Grant Groneck was QB. In 03/04 I believe Grant Groneck started at QB, but Kyle Callahan took over midway through the year. Drew Ellison took over in 04/05, and I think the only game Callahan threw a TD was at Beechwood on a bubble screen pass to Jordan Pauly (I think my memory is right on this). I am nearly certain that it never happened with Kyle or Drew.
